Teacher demoted for asking kids to draw a penis
In a biology sex ed class..7th grade. wtf is this world coming to..
i bet half those kids have already seen the paris hilton video. seriously lol but drawing a 2 dimensional penis on a chalkboard .. Yonkers school spokeswoman Jerilynne Fierstein. "There was no way we were going to let him be in front of children," http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070127/...anatomy_lesson I seriously hope parents pull their kids out of that school , i would never let my children attend such an idiotic school.. When i was in grade 7 there were prob less sexually active people , but in this day and age its prob a safe bet to say any drawing he could have done wouldnt have been any big news to anyone .. im sure most of the kids have already had some sexual activity , why not inform them.. half the class ALREADY has a penis. |
When i was ih 7th grade i was already been sexualy active hehe

That's retarded.
It's a penis; get over it. They need to know the anatomy of a penis anyway. It's not like he asked them to draw HIS penis, or to draw a girl sucking on a penis. People need to be less fucking stupid. BTW: Yonkers, NY is where Ill Will Press (makers of Foamy the Squirrel) is from (www.illwillpress.com) |
As if this guy is trying to fire a teacher for teaching male anatomy in a health class, when the curriculum calls for it. What a tool. http://www.yonkerspublicschools.org/supe/supe_about.php |
I realise punching someone in the face doesn't solve anything but sometimes i think if someone just punched these idiots in the head really hard and said "SMARTEN UP JACKASS" it might work

Phone number at the bottom of the page, btw.

I agree, especially when it's a teacher's job at stake. I'm going to call on monday. |
It's a penis, not a gun. A 7th grader that does not know what a penis is or what it looks like will probably have problems later.
Let em learn, it was in school and its the parents that don't seem to talk to the kids.... |

sigh.....

I'd think drawing a penis on command in grade 7 would be humiliating... ?
|
When we started sex ed in year 7 (which I guess is the same as 7th grade, aged about 11-12) the first thing we had to do was attempt to draw our reproductive system, including evil penises and vaginas

I understand your point though. Sex ed was always a bit embarassing at first for everyone.. Try to think back to sex ed class ( im having a hard time remembering myself ) . I remember the teacher asking questions that were a bit embarassing , i wouldn't say humiliating. he wasnt asking them to draw their own penis in actual size or anything.. I'm trying to put myself in the situation you speak of when i was in grade 7 , It would be akward if you were the first person who was asked.. "hey smokey , draw a penis on the chalkboard in front of the class". I was a class clown though i prob would have said . OK i'll draw yours ( tiny ) or mine ( huge ) lol But i remember having to draw female anatomy, not sure if it was in front of the class. But i would have no problem being asked or having my kids asked to do that in grade 7 |
I remember in 7th grade sex ed the teacher asked us what slang we used for male and then female genitals I thought that was pretty funny

Is penis not a part of the human anatomy now?
|
if this teacher gets fired it would really be stupid .... I think, kids in 7th grade positively 100% know what a penis looks like. the teacher wasn’t teaching them anything new there are pictures of the male genitals in the anatomy book ..... I just think that is lame
