To those who are successful in adult sites - do you know how to code/program etc?
 

To those who are successful in adult sites - do you know how to code/program etc? Or do you have a good business "head" and somehow make it work?

I'm planning on living off internet income (adult sites and mainstream), i'm still young, still at college (uk college, not uni), have (imo) very good knowledge about how to technically do stuff (eg code sites, write scripts to do whatever i want etc).

I just can't seem to make anything special. I bring in more income than any of my mates (who have "real" jobs) at the moment, and am quite happy with what i make, but it isn't enough, but I really feel i should be making more than I should.

What do you think made you make what you do? Luck? Knowing the right people? Getting in at the right time? Coming up with a good idea? Or lots of money to invest?

ps - this isn't in any way some bragging post (i see so many of them in this forum, it got boring after the first 5... lol)

As for knowing coding, yes it helps but not necessary.

Yes i am a programer also, i have my Bachelors in COmputer Science

I'm not that successfull, but I know php, java, javascript and of course css and html and I have a collegedegree to back that up if there's anyone who dares doubt me. Although my diploma is for business administration, I concentrated on computer sciences.

Basically you NEED to know what to do, it's not enough if you know how to do it. I chat quite often with a very talented coder, and he's fucking pissed off at being able to code almost everything that's already out there, and could do so much more..but doesn't know what he should do in order to make money. :)

This is how it goes, and you pretty much need all 3 in my humble opinion:
Idea + talent to do it + marketing = money
