Need hosting
 

This is a very special request and I haven?t seen anyone offering this. That?s why I have to ask.

What I need is hosting for my DVD's. I need allot of storage and allot of bandwidth. I don't need anything else. No databases, no email, no control panel, no DNS or anything else that usually comes with hosting.

This is just a hosting for my DVD?s and I will burn allot of BW and I only want to pay for what I use. I don?t want to pay any (or very very low) monthly fee. If I burn BW worth 10k one month, you get 10k. If I don?t burn anything you get nothing. Monthly fee connected to hard drives are acceptable. I don?t care if it?s unix or windows server. I don?t care if it?s shared or dedicated. All I care about is the transfer speed.

I prefer hosting in EU but will consider any offer. I need this starting February 15.

Can it be done?

Can it be done? With all the people out there willing to sell hosting for $3, I would suppose so.

How much room do you need ?

I will host about 1000 DVD's but will only start with about 100 for the first month or two. Can't transfer all at the same time.

Same question again how much space in gigs.

depends on the true space, but nobody has more bandwidth than us, that i can guarantee.

For this I don't really need any "quality" hosting. I am with Isprime but they can't offer me this. This is, basically, just a second download alternative for my members.

Multiple servers?? No, I need multiple hard drives. Shit, even my laptop has a 250Gig hard drive :)

No monthly fee for BW. I don't mind paying the cost for the hard drives.

Why not get someone to build you a rack-mountable server and co-locate it somewhere big?

Storage is cheap, and if it's just going to be a file server, you don't need an especially powerful server, just a few 500GB SATA Hard Drives and a SATA Raid Card (many server boards have it on-board nowadays anyway).

Plus then you have an "asset" instead of throwing money away to rentals... Just a thought.

You're going to need TBs and TBs of transfer, anyway, if you're going to be hosting 1000 movies there. I'm sure your members are going to want the whole movies :P
