Is anyone else tired of Newbies coming on this board and asking the same questions that almost all newbies do? Posting polls that have been repeatedly been polled before.

Do they not know what the definition of "search" is?

I don't remember the terms when one becomes a member. Does anyone know if the search feature is specifically mentioned in the terms?

As long as BB's exist, annoying newbies will join them, spam, and ask the same questions that have been asked 2 millions times before. They will do this even if they are told, repeatedly, to go fuck themselves.

try searching for PHP, CGI, ARS, ICQ, IRC, any number of TLAs some time. good luck! i know this has bitten me on at least one occasion.

vBulletin comes with the "Minimum Word Length" for the searches set at 4 by default... maybe GFY admin(s) didn't notice or just didn't want to change it....?

I think there ought to be a big fat link at the top of the page to a FAQ with highly misleading answers to commonly asked questions like, "How do I get traffic?" and "Is bestiality legal?" and all the other questions we get over and over again. :1orglaugh

Ive seen people trying to ask a serious questions or start
serious topics here: you'll get bashed (as a compensation for not knowing the answer) and bulshitted.

Wanna know why? Because 80% of all members on this board
are newbies..

If someone posts a threat: "would you fuck her"
look at the replies and effort that is taken to come
up with a good response.

But if someone asks a simple question: "what about conversion of
.." or "what was that html tag" you'll see '0 replies' for a long time.

Why? Because really nobody knows.

Do you really think that if exclusively fresh and interesting
topics would appear on GFY this place was still fun?

This is entertainment and if you have a little social skill
and the ability to analyze rumours and gossip
GFY is quite usefull. Read between the lines.

And in the mean time: just post, have fun, repeat
the obvious and help a fellow webmaster out if he or
she has a question.

GFY is very useful. I learned Bangbus is real here.

Makes more sense than I would make if I was without sleep for 72 hours. Makes more sense than most of the posts from people who get their nightly 8 hours of sleep.
