What we did on our board to stop sigwhoring
 

Our admin implemented a crack on VB that stopped sigs from showing unless the post had over 50 words in it.

Much cleaner format to read.

Do you get a lot of :

I didn't even know you had a board.

But I guess that with that rule, this post of yours wouldn't be showing your sig right now, and maybe you could loose some business. How is that better than what we have now?

Boards are moderated, so posts like that would be deleted, and the poster warned or banned.

It's a Martial Arts Board, and we worked on what number would be best. We had it down to 20 words at one point, but some of our posters are long winded.

The sigs were worse than here, usually them quoting themselves about how wonderful and witty they are.

As for business, you think three or four word responses like "I'd hit it" is business conducive?

You can always setup 10 words minimum post or even more,that is also effective.
