no tailgating for the Super Bowl?

I just read that there is no tailgating allowed within a 1 mile radius of the stadium on Super Bowl Sunday.

What if I owned a home or business within that 1 mile? Are they saying I can't grill out or drink beer in my own house or business?

No tailgating during the super Bowl...The terrorists have won.

In australia, 'tailgating' means driving your car right up another car's ass.

that means to follow too closely in the US also, but we also use the phrase to refer to having a party at a football game, sporting event, etc. Usually held from the back of an SUV or truck and having the beer, food, etc. set up on the tailgate of the vehicle. Hence, "Tailgating"

Wow what a way to take away a lot of the fun from the Super Bowl. Tailgating is all about build up to the game. It's a tradition in football. I would love to see everyone tailgate anyway.

Who are these people that are constantly trying to take the fun out of life? Why can't we locate them and ship them off to a remote island where they can make up new laws till their faces turn blue?

I just wanna be able to drink a Budweiser without worrying about going to jail. Is that too much to ask?

"because of security reasons, no pre-game partying on (or very near) the premises will take place. Fans spotted tailgating could face charges, Jaquez said."
Pretty weak reasoning being given... "Because of security reasons"

could Sue Jaquez be any more vague?

Maybe they're afraid some terrorist will detonate a barbecue propane tank in the parking lot and the field would be littered with half-charred wieners.

in this case, it's the NFL. I love how the biotch says "This is part of the NFL, not the Dolphins," Jaquez said. "If the Dolphins are saying there's tailgating -- or think it's going to be allowed -- then they need to contact the NFL."

It's like "yeah, we're coming over to your house, we're going to piss in your hot tub...and you're gonna like it"

as dumb as the no fly zones over stadiums. like a 3 mile radius below 3k feets means anything when you're doing 400kts.
