Anybody good with Excel? I have a data validation question

i dont want the field to have more than 55 characters.

my xls file has already 6000 lines of data , i want to limit and format exisitng data in a column so that it dont exceed 55 characters.

how i do this?

Select the column that you want to limit. Go to Data|Validation, then in the "About" box select "Text Length". Choose "Less Than" to set the limit.
