Hey AIR3K I really appreciate your involvement in this matter, most webmasters seem not to care at all... Have you notified your affiliates about the issue already?

I have to admit, the first time through I was pretty vocal about it and I got alot of people to send in rejections to ICANN. I don't know what more they can possibly want from us. They disallowed it the first time because we didn't want it, but yet here it is again in our face.

I will for sure be at this and have some questions. I will have to stay sober for this one, I tend to be a little more easily agitated when I'm slammed.

I will be emailing our affiliates and the ragecash and extremepaychecks affiliates with their permission at the absolute right time. I think that people should strategically plan when they email to send a solid message to ICANN in force at the right time.

the domain is going to cost 70 bucks as compared to $7 for .com, that alone says what his motives are. These guys claim like they want to help the "Responsible part" of the adult industry to "self-regulate" (lol @ self) but thats total bullshit. They created IFFOR an organisation which they would never create if they didn't want to make money from the .xxx idea for the rest of their lives.

Now imagine this - .xxx becomes introduced, at the beginning it gets almost no websites under it (the people who are registering .xxx will be domain speculators and companies pretecting their trademarks) but later the US Congress makes .xxx mandatory..... or ..for example... VISA buys ICM bullshit arguments about "responsible self-regulation" etc and they say "from January 2009 we are going to process adult sites only under .xxx".

Now imagine how much traffic you will lose if all the offices block .xxx by default...

My opinion about .XXX is neither here nor there. I'm not a big fan of 2257 either, but we invited the FBI to the conference as well. The fact is, there is a very real possibility that .XXX now has the votes to pass. Assuming it does, this is just another opportunity to get the people who will oversee it on the record about what they plan to do, and then hold them to it. I think that is important, because in a situation like this, ignorance is not bliss.

Here, I think it is important to work to mitigate the potential threat. That is what I have done and will continue to do.

Those bashing Tom, are completely misdirected, and doing more harm in your ignorance of the issues than any constructive criticism.

Tom has been and continues to be a voice of reason to those that oppose the adult industry. He has been against .XXX from the beginning, and his role at Xbiz as publisher has placed him in a position where ICM can be asked questions and bring transparency to a very murky and muddy pond.

What is "the fight" that people want to do? What protest? Where's the organization, the direction, the focus, and the plan for such activities?

What do you think can be done to stop .XXX, other than flaming xbiz?

I personally don't think much can be done, and that has clearly been demonstrated by the lack of webmaster's even posting up.

Even if posting up was futile, it would atleast give an outlet for the continued outrage over .xxx

ICM claims they have over 1,000 adult webmasters who have sent them emails of support. Doesn't matter if you believe that or not, we couldn't get 1,000 adult webmasters posting up against .XXX the last time, and even worse numbers showed up this time.. in fact, probably more pro-.XXX supporter numbers are there.

I believe .XXX will get approved by ICANN through the information i have received, so the issue now is to get out of the stage of denial, and focus on the aftermath issues of when it gets approved, and what that means for individual businesses and as an industry as a whole.

You may think that xbiz supports .xxx, but there is pen to paper documentation of adult companies who gave support to .XXX a few years back.

What stopped .XXX last time, wasn't the adult biz.. it was the Department of Commerce, the religious groups, and the members of ICANN/GAC that objected on various terms of the .XXX agreement. Tom did play a key part of that in delivering to ICANN, Larry Flynt's position against .XXX.. but there were other forces at work that did the bigger pounding.

The objections from the last round were being worked on when we thought this was all over, and now, it appears the i's have been dotted, and t's have been crossed on the agreement language.

I hope Tom sees past the few people making the negative comments towards him to know there is a greater amount who are reading and watching who appreciate his efforts in the charge and his efforts in all issues that affect webmasters.

I know that i am continually vigilant, and for those that say i am not "part of the biz" because i am not a pornographer, a big GFY salute.. i have given more time and effort in the various controversial issues to help webmasters undestand and deal with the issues than any content/pornsite has done.

I understand the emotional place where the sentiment is coming from, but it is misdirected and turning on ones own.
