Hey Computer Techs, I need some help plz

I bought a SB Audigy Platinum External. Installed it and connected everything, but when I plug my speakers in (or headphones) I get static and interference noise. What could be wrong ?

BTW, i have a SB 128 PCI installed in motherboard, but I disabled it through BIOS and still got problems.

I think the problem is between the chair and the computer.

Could be a combination of any sort of interferences, could be the card itself, could be intereference from anything inside the computer, or anything outside of the computer... If another sound card seems to work fine in the computer in the same position, it is probably most likely your sound card, otherwise all I could suggest is moving the sound card away from other PCI slots if possible and see if it makes any difference

I experience the same interference, but only when I hook up my soundcard to the home stereo ... in combination with any PC speakers I don't hear anything...

Its all the radiation you have over there - needs a lead shield

Something my be conflicting with the IRQ settings, not that I know what this means, but I had the same problem awhile ago.

Read your mobo manual, it usually tells you where to put your video and sound card.

Ya, I have my home stereo hooked up to mine. It's noisy when there is no sound, but it sounds ok when there is tunes playing. I thought about going to best buy to see what kind of speaker wire they have, I think it may be the quality of the speaker wire.

ok, it seems working when i plug speakers into "Line Out" but when i plug it into Digital Out - it doesnt work. maybe its not supposed to work with Digital Out - maybe something else goes there (like some amplifier)

dark jedi ive had the same problem with a variety of SB cards and the digital out. i really have never figured it out.

Er.. Digital Out is not made to be plugging speakers into.

It's a lot like the digital 5.1 Output on DVD players.. It's a digital stream to something that can decode it.

right... you have to have the 5.1 digital speakers... creative makes a set that they actually recommend for their sound cards. but ive still had this problem. :(
