SEO experts - a question for you ...
If you use an affiliate program with SE friendly links, such as
www.domain.com/affiliates/id/123 where 123 is the affiliate number, does www.domain.com gets a good ranking because of affiliates displaying the above mentioned kind of links on their sites? |
Chances are, the first link will have a link to the root page in which case the answer is yes.

I would think so

I also forgot to ask, I guess it is so, but better ask:
to get a good ranking for certain keywords, those affiliate links, such as www.domain.com/affiliates/id/123 have to have the anchor text the respective keywords? For example "Electronics" to get a better SE ranking for the keyword electronics? :) |
If you have links on your page like:
h ttp://fatpussy.com/index.php?ccbill=1307951 versus: h ttp://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=932167-0000&PA=1307951 and someone searches fat pussy @ Google, the first is better PR might be helped also because I have been told the spiders ignore everything to the right of the ? mark (your example has no ? mark though) most do I'm far from an expert though, |
"yuppers" to all the stuff u said :thumbsup
|
I also know the ? version of affiliate link usually doesn't count as inbound (back)link at all, that's why I'm asking about this type of URL ...

Sale short seo?

I think it only helps if there's a linking connection between the affiliate url and the main url, probably in both directions, like most newspages do with their archives... |
