So would any of you would vote for Clinton?

Out of the candidates I have seen so far, she would get my vote. I'd like to see her take it and have Obama has vice. The first ever woman / black man team, would be one for the books, and lets face it, white men have fucked this country up maybe beyond repair.

crockett 01-24-2007 04:39 PM

I would vote for Hillary just to get Bill back in the White House. But I don't really like her.. I think Obama seems to have some brains so I'd like to see him as the VP for who ever wins. I dunno if he would have strong enough support to run on his own.

JD 01-24-2007 04:39 PM

imho, having a woman president would be a very very very bad idea. Check out the rest of the world (specifically countries that already hate us) and look at how they view women...We'd be even more of a laughing stock then we already are.

She's got a better chance of being elected though. A black man will get very little votes most likely. There's LOADS of people that are secretly racist..

pornguy 01-24-2007 04:40 PM

I dont see a black man getting the top spot. And it will be hard for hillary, but if she wins, she will set the stage one way or the other for suture women. If she does great, then the next prez could be another woman. If she fucks up, there will not be another woman for a LOOOOOOOOOG time.

The reason I dont see a black man getting the prez job, is to many people ( whites ) will fear him giving more power to blacks.

D-Money 01-24-2007 04:43 PM

I'm voting for the democrat that has the best chance to win.

I'll see where the polls are as we get closer.

Panama has or at least HAD a female, and she did wonders for the country. It is safe, and plenty of money flowing. I think that Hillary might doa good job. She made Bill a millionair.

I might vote for Hillary. Let's see how the primary campaign pans out. I kind of doubt she would select Obama as her running mate. I'm guessing she will go with an older white guy to reassure people that there is someone stable behind her on the ticket, and possibly someone from the South or West, for strategic political reasons. Someone from Texas or California might help with electoral votes.

Budy... there is something you don't understand about politics. In the end, it's all about the bejamins. Nobody will care if it's a man or woman they are talking too.

Yeah, I'm aware that the majority of politics is all about the $. But, when it comes to dealing with countries in the middle east where women are 2nd/3rd class citizens a woman being our representative might not be the best idea...

notabook 01-24-2007 06:50 PM

I'd sooner vote for Bill Richardson than that harpy.

teg0 01-24-2007 06:56 PM

You just know that if Hillary gets the democratic vote... the Republicans will get a women to run against her.

Why? Republicans would essentially be handing over the presidency to democrats if they got a woman to run against Hillary.

Your pretty much right on, as a matter of fact I doubt obama will make it past super tuesday let alone the convention.

I think a good choice for her to select from would be:

1. Gov Richardson (western states, part spanish, lots of experience)
2. Former Sen. Edwards
3. Possible Indiana Sen. Bahye (sp)

nah, repubs usually pick from "who" is next in line so to speak... Dems fight more in the primaries, repubs go buy age, and next in line, usually.

SomeCreep 01-24-2007 07:03 PM

No way, might as well vote for Oprah Winfrey.

Tom_PM 01-24-2007 07:06 PM

Well, she's been a damn good senator and knows presidential politics from the inside. She'll be super strong. I'd vote for her no problem. Bit too soon though because we need to see the slug fest first.

You should stick to Canadian politics as you obviously don't have a clue about ours.

Well we will see a little slug fest - I imagine it won't be too rough though.

Shit Hillary has Terry Mcullife (sp) as her national manager, carville is back helping out and don't even forget the best, smartest political mind since mabey FDR or ever, Bill Clinton..

Still will be tough, why do you think the last Senator to win was in 1960, JFK, Gov's usually win / get the nomination.

I"m not touching this with a 10 foot poll. We'll see who makes it into the running.
I just hope that the Democratic party nominates a strong enough combination of candidates that we take control of the presidency.

I do however think that due to the sensitivity of this years election, I don't think it's the year for them to try something this risky and have such a diversified combination of candidates.

aico 01-24-2007 07:10 PM

How can you possibly know who you would vote for so early in the race?

chaze 01-24-2007 07:12 PM

She won't run this time but probably next time. But I would vote for her if she did I have heard only good things about her.

Agree, while I don't think race or gender should ever matter in politics, I know reality to well.

That's why I think Gov. Richardson is running for "vp" :)

Since when did ya care what other nations thought of a President SPeRMiNaToR? Whoever is elected is the US President - not there to please anyone else.

Seriously doubt it makes any difference from a Middle East angle - they got better stuff to bother about than whoever is the President of the US. The only factor that obviously does concern people in the Middle East is the decades of US foreign policy which helped to get to this stage - and doubt it matters whoever gets elected, unless there is a more constructive scenario, little will change.

But.. meantime, it's your President - elect who the hell ya want.

There are also loads of people who are sexist... so really, you're fucked no matter which one you vote for. You're essentially throwing your vote away.

Want to really make a difference? Look at the other candidates, decide which one you hate the least, and vote for them. Even if it means putting one in for Rudy.

The female that Panama had is widely regarded here as the biggest political mistake the country ever made. She's so reviled that she travels under heavy guard everywhere and very rarely makes public appearances. All other former Presidents are like rock stars here and travel with no guards and no fear. Imelda Marcos' insanity in the Philippines is yet another example of that type of woman in power and the problems it brought.

I'm not saying that a woman shouldn't be or couldn't be President, in fact I think it's a great idea. What I'm saying is that women like THESE shouldn't be. Hilary Clinton is a soulless, manipulative, calculating cunt who deserves punishment for her crimes, life imprisonment and our collective shame for us allowing her to get this far, not adulation, respect and consideration of her in any leadership position.

So.... you don't like Hillary too much Z?? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :winkwink:

She sounds more like a war criminal than much else *lol*

Seriously... the truth is very few people actually *know* the person they will eventually elect (apart from their own families and friends). There will be the usual base throat-cutting, good words and bullshit, good and bad, about each candidate - but that still gives no clue of the real person. We all think we know, but 99.9999% have no clue.

Add money to that scenario, together with a propaganda machine - and we know far less. Therein lies the weakness and danger of a democracy - and where government ends up a gamble :-)

Fizzgig 01-25-2007 02:29 AM

Isn't anyone voting for Jeb Bush?

its very interesting that you all think you actually have a choice..well you dont..she is picked by the power elite, not by us..she went to Yale Law school and her husband was a Rhodes Scholar..do your homework people..
Bush 41-Skull & Bones
Clinton-Rhodes Scholar
Bush 43- Skull & Bones
Hillary- Yale Law
Even Kerry was Skull & Bones..

Obama is a patsy put out there to make you think you have a choice..do some solid research of what Hillary was doing while her husband was Gov of Arkansas..Rose Law firm and Iran-Contra..pretty grizzly shit was happening in that state..WAKE UP PEOPLE she dont care about you or me..
