Who is smarter - the average GFY'er or the average citizen?
 

Do you think the average GFY poster has a higher IQ than the "average citizen" or not?

I'd say that on the one hand we have many tech savy people here and lots of people with an entrepreneurial mind (and although thats not directly related to IQ - such people usually have an IQ higher than average) on the other hand, the amount of total idiots here, who wouldn't even be able to keep a McDonald's job is also pretty high...

I'd say the average GFY'er can sing better than the average American Idol contestant. Not sure about smarts. I'd say the webmaster population on GFY is.

GFY people by far. I think the average citizen is seriously retarded, and the average GFYer just has some other mental mental condition, and slight intellectual handicap..but I can't even walk down to the grocery store and meet people that surpass themselves daily by just managing to put on clothes.

Probably equal. Like the world at large, there are more people looking on than those with something to say. The occasional nugget of entertainment or wisdom is soon drowned out by the mindless chatter.

What makes GFY seem worse, is that even were this a place to relax rather than do business, we should be smarter than average. But by comparison to the majority of posts, Fox News is a bastion of intellectualism.

i'd say that the average GFY'er is more informed. meaning that most relevant (and non-relevant current events get posted on the board here. so, even if you don't get to watch or read the news, you can still get caught up with current events on the board. a lot of americans have no clue about what's going on in the country or in the world
