Motherfucking Retarded Hosting Company

Hello I would appreciate any advice for what to do with a hosting company that I haven't hosted with for months but keeps trying to charge my credit card. They call me, email me, I'm waiting for them to show up at my doorstep.

I paid them through the end of June and stopped using their service and switched the nameservers in May. They have apparently changed hands and now the new company calls and emails me every day telling me they are going to cut off the domain (which hasn't pointed to them since May) and that I owe them money, which I don't.

Any interesting ideas for what to do with these fucks?

You did tell them you wanted to cancel, right?

I've had that problem several times before, which is why I cancel my credit cards a lot.

Did you break your contract in any way? IE if it was a 1 year contract, has that time passed by?

If you haven't breached the contract, try contacting VIsa/MC or whatever CC you have. Or, get a lawyer.

If you have breached your contract you're probably SOL.

I had that thing with Webair ages ago.

I had one domain hosted for a temp development project and the month i moved the domain to a dedicated machine at rackspace the fuckers charged my cc for $800 bandwith. (virtually no
visitors beside people related to my company).

Didnt have much time to go into that and just cancelled the account feeling nice about being screwed for the first time.

The months after, they started charging random figures
i didnt even notice at first ($20 etc) and 4 months
later they did a $300+ charge.

I had to fucking block my CC to stop those motherfuckers
from charging. :BangBang: WEBAIR

Prohosters pulled that on me a while back.

I cancelled first by email, which they had a problem with, so I went to the support chat room to cancel personally with one of their guys. They kept charging me for 2 months following my final cancellation. I may only have gotten charged two months because my CC expired before what would have been the third month. Who knows?

I didn't go ballistic, go to the boards, or get pissed off. I wrote 7 polite but firm emails to their account manager, Ted Hickman, and legal dept over a period of 2 weeks. All of them went unanswered.

I decided to eat the charges as it was just a couple of small TGP'ing domains.

I did cancel the account with the old owners and they said it was fine because I had paid for an extra two months because it was billed quarterly and I did it two months in advance.

My bank refuses their charges so that's a relief. Actually I might not even have that credit card anymore. They are gay enough to send it to a collection agency though and that is a headache I don't want to waste time with.

Anyway thanks for the responses, except for the crabby guy.
