thanks I just needed confirmation that wordpress will do actually.

I am about to start one hell of a project so you can't be too safe.

wp is good but not very secure if you ask me....I'd go with text pattern as there wasn't any single bug found in it since its launch, considering you'll need very secure scripts....

security is not that important in this case.

search engine compability is what matters the most here.

but I will take text pattern in consideration after I read this.

Like others have suggested, I'll throw another vote for Wordpress.

Splum 01-22-2007 05:41 PM

BTW, a new version of wordpress came out last night, a lot of plugins don't work. You might want to stick with 2.0 (and not 2.1)

The new 2.1 admin panel is really faster, and pinging also causes it to be slow.

Upgrading to 2.1 was a hell for me, in comparison with other upgrades ....:Oh crap

Wordpress all the way!

Darkhorse 01-22-2007 07:33 PM

Been using Textpattern here for a long time got my vote.....

StarkReality 01-22-2007 07:54 PM

Wordpress gets my vote, it's the most flexible and easy to customize one, loads of plugins, themes, etc. available...although it needs alot of tweaking to create a blog optimized for search engines with it, many defaults aren't good.

110% correct, default wordpress will fuck your seo quicker than a fat chick roofied up.

look at WP and textpattern and all the usual suspects, and then have a look at dBlogger

www.dBlogger.com

-full setup in less than 3 minutes (including template) and 150% SEO friendly - as it does not have all the overkill bells and whistles that other blogs do, that do absolutely nothing for SEO ...

The entire functionality of the blog rests in 3 SSI calls and a 100% external CSS main template ... the 3 server side includes can be placed in literally ANY template or custom HTML page.

www.dBlogger.com

** dBlogger powers all of the blogs in the Consumer Electronics Weblogs network. :thumbsup
