Love Hugo Chavez

Chavez To U.S.: 'Go To Hell, Gringos!'

Does this mean Bush can call him a wetback now?

crockett 01-22-2007 12:03 PM

Funny in the old cowboy movies the "Gringos" were always the Mexicans.

teg0 01-22-2007 12:04 PM

Living in a latin country I can tell you they think anyone who is white is gringos. I've seen germans and russians called gringos here in Puerto Rico. But its not really an insult to be called gringo.

pornguy 01-22-2007 12:05 PM

My wife calls me a gringo.

I dont see anything wrong with it.

If you want to send him to hell, here is a tip: Save fuel. Don't fly so much, get a ore fuel effecient car, etc. This guy (like the rest of the OPEC people) can thumbs their nose at the US because without the oil, the US would stop dead. So nobody wants to piss off Mr Chavez.

I would love to see the US raise the CAFE fuel economy standards to 30MPG within 3 years, and make all "light trucks" fit into the same category. It would make a huge difference in the amount of oil the US has to import in the long run.

chavez is wild. he never ceases to crack me up.

Chavez is not whining at the US in particular - he just despises the current regime (and sure not alone in that) - and kinda amusing and refreshing in his vocal rhetoric.

If the US wants to buy less oil that will not make one ounce of difference to Chavez or OPEC. Venezuelan oil is already oversold in the east for years to come and world demand already outstrips supply. Chavez already has supply contracts with eg China etc which he has no hope in hell of filling.

Is there tinges of "hate" in your post?? *lol* Predictable. But sure, like all of the human species when they get power, there is an inclination in some to abuse. Chavez "could" be another instance of this in the future and like all assholes on a powertrip need watching.

I would not take Chavez so easy, he´s a Castro-type dictator, and he´s very aggresive in building a kind of alliance based on communist and socialist ideology and huge natural resources both in Latin America and worldwide. When one thinks that Rusia is iron hand leaded by Putin, Iran is a muslim dictatorship, Venezuela is a dictatorship now, with Nigeria and Irak in trouble...a good chunk of the global oil and gas reserve is in dangerous hands. And energy resources can become a powerful weapon.

And good reason to keep an eye on him along with the others with extremist views on both sides of the fence - Ortega, Bush, Morales et al - they are a source of trouble already or could head that way.

Who knows, but it's inevitable countries in south America and Asia are going to (they already are) rise in economic relevance and would be nice to see this happen without drama queen politics, disruption, threats and sanctions blah.

True... it's all a damage limitation exercise - sadly :pimp

I live in Central America and even here, people think that guy's a nutball. His own people hate him and the "landslide elections" are a blatant fraud.

I give him six months, tops before somebody shoots him.

aico 01-22-2007 05:39 PM

I think Gringo is a cool name, Honky is funny too, but call me a Republican or a Christian, and it's on mother fucker.
