Wannabe Designers...
 

Ok, here's my one rant for the year:

It seems there's a new crop of people out there calling themselves designers, which in itself is fine, we all have to start somewhere. Some of them even have talent.

However, just discovering the outer glow function on Photoshop does NOT make you a designer! If this is something you really want to do, it will take time and effort to develop your skills; do the reserarch - trawl through every design site on the web, mainstream and adult, check the tutorials on sites like http://www.teamphotoshop.com
and practice!! Maybe even learn some techincal skills (gasp!)

Don't just knock up a couple of banners for beast sites and call yourself a designer. You're just making it harder for yourself in the long run.

I discovered how to use the Extract tool. I feel like a designer. I'll be setting up shop soon with rock bottom prices.

( anyone who has seem my attempts at design will appreciate this post ).

Who cares? I'm gettin pretty sick of these stupid fuckin "Holier than thou" posts.

Why stop at designers? You aren't a mcdonalds employee if you don't work the drive through. You aren't a tgp webmaster if you don't own a 500k+ tgp. You aren't a paysite owner unless you own a site that does 1 million a week.

Most of these "wannabe" designers have alot more respect than you fuckin "experienced" designers. And... if I had work that warranted their business, I'd much rather send it to them than to a prick like you, or any of the other holier than thou fuckers on this board.

Complain about them spamming all ya want, not all of em do, and the designers with 2000+ posts have already found out a way to have other people spam for them. :)

I don't have a proplem with holier than though threads. Some people are just better than others, and that is what it is.

I am not now, nor do I ever pretend that I will be later, a "designer" because when I see the real work done at opticalamplitude.com or kidredproductions.com I am always reminded how much I have to learn. The only reason I keep trying is because thats the only way to learn.

It has to do with supply and demand. And most importantly if a design converts. That is what counts.

And I do believe you get what you pay for, and there is plenty of room in this industry for those who know how to make it.
