Several threads in the last month reminded me of this so let me sum it up for you again:

Do not do business with people who call you "sir" on icq.
Do not do business with Russians.
Do not do business with people with $, money, biz or pimp in their nickname.

Sure, we all have a story how you did business with a Russian with $ in his nickname who called you sir all the time and it went perfectly fine but i can guarantee you it will eventually go wrong if you keep dealing with people like that.

My tip: Shy away from business with people that regularly start drama threads. The probability of you being in one of those drama threads in the upcoming months is very high.

because often nigerian and russian scammers tend to be overly courteous and respectful in their language. they think it makes them sound more professional and honest.

Well I think using sir is fine, mostly if the person is older than me. It's just a matter of respect:)
