That's like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Use the registrar that the big boys use.

Use Moniker.

you're full of shit and a spamming piece of shit...

how about you actually know what you're talking about and make a comment that doesn't have a ref code in it for like, one whole day, jesus fucking christ

DHB, thanks for the endorsement, I think that very few people here realize how significant your domain name holdings are. It may just be that Madrox doesn't know the people in the adult industry whose names Moniker manages, and keeps secure. What's more, I don't think he is aware of how often we have turned really bad domain situations around, often because you gave a shout or advice to the person in the tough situation.

Madrox, I have no doubt that you would share info on companies that may have really helped you out, and I would encourage that. Companies that invest in, give support to, and fight for the rights of the adult industry SHOULD be recognized, just as whenever I have a friend in the adult industry who is working hard to produce good things, I encourage and support them here.

I would very rarely think of that as spamming, whether you or I, or anyone else did it... but I might be wrong, and if so, I wouldn't mind chatting about it with you. Give me a yell on ICQ if you like! Cheers!

nothing against you or moniker as i never used you guys, and won't say anything bad about ya, but my problem is with DHB, notice that he hasn't been back to this thread? because he did his spamming and moved on, i bet $100 that if you guys didn't have an affiliate program, he wouldn't have been in this thread AT ALL, check his post history, 90% of the first 3 pages is just him spamming threads with referral links...

samsam 01-21-2007 03:54 AM

well ive used both and moniker (monkey as i like to call it) is "okay" but i prefer:

http://namecheap.com :thumbsup

DarkJedi 01-21-2007 03:57 AM

The fact is, he used an affiliate code to recommend your services and took a swipe at us in the process to accomplish people using it.

Comparing our services to registerfly is classless to say the least and for you to come and support this action says just about as much.

I've already had to address this with your boss Monte when he had just about as much classs when he jumped into a thread were someone had an issue with one of their domains with us to promote his services.

You guys are all over every message board using the same behavior. How about you allow people to choose for themselves without you having to spam?

I know you guys have a good reputation so how about you let it stand on it's own without this sort of behavior.

Richardk, If you would, please take a glance over the response that you quoted... in no way did I disparage your services. There are a number of registrars that do an effective job, and if you check through ALL of my posts, you will see that I always try to emphasize the POSITIVES of using Moniker. NOT dragging down another registrar.

If a person has a bad opinion of Moniker, I always ask that person to contact me and let me know what happened or what is going on, so that I can fix the problem and address that clients specific needs.

DHB voiced his OPINION. I wasn't ENCOURAGING him to talk badly about NameCheap, but instead was trying to suppress the flaming that Madrox was giving him, find out what Madrox's issue was, and see if I could resolve the issue for him. DHB's opinion though, is his own... if you are expecting me to tell him "DON'T GIVE YOUR OPINION ABOUT OTHER REGISTRARS...ESPECIALLY IF IT MAKES THEM LOOK BAD!!", then I would respectfully recommend that you make those posts yourself... far be it from me to stand in the way of free speech.

Regarding the "spamming"... all of the crew at Moniker are on these forums often because we like to know what our clients and potential clients needs are, what their intrests are, and to provide solutions. "Spamming" implies that we are posting the same thread entry over and over and over again... which is something that I personally like to avoid. The good reputation that Moniker has is precisely because we listen to what clients and potential clients need. We make the time to answer the questions that people are asking, and I myself don't think that is "classless" behavior, but if you disagree, then I would welcome the chance to talk about it further.

You need to read my post again if you think I was talking bad about your service in general. It is not my place to comment on it in any way. My complaint was about your practices on message boards. As you can see this thread had nothing to do with Moniker yet someone that uses your affiliate code felt the need to jump in and use it and you felt the need to defend that individual in the same thread even though they took a shot at our company while doing so.

This is not the first time this happens and it has happened from your own CEO so I wouldn't expect anything different from anyone else. If you need some proof of this just let me know and I'll dig up the thread here.

In the end what you do is your business but do not expect to get away with this sort of behavior in threads that have to do with our company without me addressing them.

I'm thinking of moving my domains from Regfly to Namecheap too... got some at both places, but want them all at nc! Are there any problems with doing this?

Hello Rockatansky,

As long as you can obtain the EPP codes from registerfly there shouldn't be any problems in transferring to us.

If you have any issues, please email our support and we will help you in any way possible.

StickyGreen 01-21-2007 02:54 PM

Wow, this thread turned out to be a bunch of bullshit.

Anyways...so far I've only transferred 1 domain to test it out, it still says it is currently in the process of transferring. How long does it usually take? And what about dns settings? Do I have to reset them to point where I want or will the domain automatically still be pointing to where it was on my old registrar?

alexg 01-21-2007 03:14 PM

nope... have transferred godaddy -> namecheap...

Yes, I use lots of affiliate codes on GFY. I am here to do business. Same for many others here.

I happen to be a very satisfied customer of Moniker. I have 90% of my domains there, thousands of names.

After years of recommending Moniker to people with no compensation, I applied as an affiliate. Why the heck not?

NameCheap never did me wrong, and they are probably *OK* as a registrar.

But I find Moniker to be outstanding. They have done more for me than any other registrar, they take great pains to offer superb customer service, and their security is second to none.

Last, leave Monte out of this. There is no reason he should be dragged into a thread unnecessarily. He has nothing to do with this. Chris Leggatt is very professional and he is his own person.

This is all just my opinion.

Mine took 2-3 days. On the dns settings, by default it will use namecheap's
so you have to edit it manually to point where you want it.

holy shit, didn't expect to start a war between moniker and namecheap.. heh

be honest, if moniker didn't have a affiliate program would you even have replied in this thread? DOUBT it... you only did it to get your ref code out there, even in this thread you couldn't defend yourself without throwing in the ref code... you're a spamming piece of shit...

i recommend programs and shit that i feel are great, WITHOUT a ref code, i got phatservers in my sig, no paid, no ref codes, nothing, hell i even replaced your moniker ref code in my quote of yours with namecheap, WITHOUT a ref code... thats what people who truely mean it do... not someone looking to make money off others

wdsguy 01-23-2007 01:45 AM

I've spoken to monte personally and have heard good things about moniker. However half of my stuff is on namecheap and I'm very pleased with them.
