So, how much is the Last "Sting Ray" going to sell for?

Documented and authenticated as absolutely the Last "Sting Ray" (two words, all others afterward had Stingray as one word) Corvette to come off the production line in 1967.

The Last "Sting Ray" Corvette is a 1967 Corvette Coupe, 427-390 hp, 4 speed, VIN #22940. It has Silver Pearl paint with Black interior and is optioned with a L-36 427-390HP engine, factory air conditioning, side dual exhaust, power steering, telescopic steering column, 3.55 positrac axle, M-21 close ratio transmission, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, and red stripe tires. The Last "Sting Ray" Corvette (VIN #22940) was built at the St. Louis Corvette Assembly Plant on July 12th, 1967, and was delivered new to Richardson Chevrolet in Houston, Texas.

So, just how much will it go for??? I'm guessing around $1.8M. It's going today during a prime-time Barrett-Jackson no-reserve auction on the Speed Channel (http://www.speedtv.com)

Before it was fully restored, it was bought as pretty much in basket case condition for $229,400. :helpme

p.s. - and if anyone out there is feeling pretty generous, this would be a perfect gift for my upcoming birthday! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

That's my dads favorite car. He had one back when I was a teen but sold it.
His was dark blue with silver on the hood and I think the sides. (hard to remember, it's been a few years! lol)

I bet he wishes he'd never sold that baby. heh

Oh.. I'm not sure it was a "sting ray".. but I do know it was a 1967. :)

I did too really.

This is a beautiful car. But I don't understand how being the first or last of a certain model makes it more expensive. They get to say it was the "last one" - Big deal. But I'm sure it will go for a pretty penny.
