Will there be an internext next year?
was like a ghost town...parties are still good for networking..but the floor was kinda lame:2 cents:
|
glad I didnt go, I had a feeling it wasnt worth the drive down to the strip
I did have a couple of nice meetings with some people on GFY though :thumbsup |
Internext is done, terrible in Vegas terrible in MIami. Ghost Towns. What the fuck do they expect with the astronomical prices. Who the fuck in their right mind will exhibit just to chat with booth next door.
XBiz is next big thing. |
Internext had a very small floor but I was in town for AEE anyway and did a lot of business at both conventions. :thumbsup
|
how about in Montego Bay...
|
there will be an internext next year - they'll call it something different and "rebrand" the theme to be something else...new and improved etc...
come on suckers...ditch AVN already |
from what I hear there were barely ANY affiliate level people, it was all program owners and their employees
if that is the case, I think internext has lost site of what is important in the online world oh WAIT, Internext NEVER had a sight on what is important in the online world...ROFL |
The Phoenix Forum is the "it" show now.
|
Anyone here that HAD a booth on the floor to do biz think it was a failure?
|
it was a ghost town last year was this year worst ?

It was smaller, but HARDLY dead.
But with teh rise in # of shows, a smaller turnout seems obvious. Kinda like with the advent of cable and internet, it's obvious that NBC is gonna have less viewers. (but NBC is def. not dead.) Besides, I thought the State of the Industry panel, withe the discussion of VOD/IP was the best I've seen. |

was good to see you dude the first day of the show was very good. the 2nd day was slow as hell and the last day was ok I think if they want to survive they will have to lower their prices :2 cents: |

a failure? no not by any means slower then years past? definatly |
Thanks for the feedback Forest. Will be interesting to see how we did (Adultchamber.com) compared to the past 6 years at this show.
|
I disagree. It was good attendance both on and off the floor.
I feel the show had GREAT improvement since last year and I will attend going forward with even more of Mansions presence. |
I gave up thoes shows completely. I like the small shows only. I get more done with more intimate time. The irony is that Internext is now becoming a small show so I might actually add it back to my circuit.
|
well i guess everything is what you make of it.
show was a success in terms of biz contacts but the show floor needs to be improved Halcyon..and Oystein just took the steam out of my posts..lol |
bottom line is you all are paying crazy money for a show that is worth about 20% of that value
wanna see some amazing convention ideas? check out the mainstream side of things as long as you all keep forking out the money for booths and badges AVN will keep doing the show everyone bitches about |

now i feel bad about this thread :(
there were lots of deals to be made...and i made some...not sure what else i could expect |

and I have been to plenty of internext shows, just not in the past few years because it has been horrible planned and not worth all the money to go but let me get this straight....I can't have an opinion about it unless I go? I can't see it as a huge failure and NOT go? I actually have to partake? I have no issue with going if they would present something that was worth going to... |
of course....

so true wheres the rest of the convention haters that never actually go to any shows? theres about 3 or 4 more of them. |
glad i called my trip off, seems it was just as lame as last time!
|
either way, you can definitely schedule the XBIZ Hollywood Conference and XBIZ Summer Forum into your calendar! But I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Internext -- kudos to the AVN Team for really pulling it together this time around -- although the 8 days in Vegas between AEE and Internext KILLED me!

Is it smaller? Yes. Did they use a smaller hall to make it look more crowded? Yes. Were there fewer sponsors and parties? Yes. Were there great dinners, parties and Player's Balls? yes Did business get done? Yes. Is there enough interest to do this again? Who knows. Does it seem like there is a higher owner:affiliate ratio than past years? Yes. Do I mind? Not so much. |

Good seeing you again. |
I personally feel the show model of Internext, especially Vegas, was built for 2001 and in 2007 it does not meet todays needs.
Much prefer the smaller shows where we take over most of the hotel, where affiliates starting out can afford to go and I can meet and talk to the more established people. Some show owners need to rethink. Last year Vegas show floor was a ghost town, Eva and I decided this year to skip it and have a holiday instead. |

I go to the EU World Tele Media show on a regular basis, this is for the mobile phone content business. Aimed at people not starting up business on a shoe string in their back bedrooom. |
if I get 1/2 of the deals that i put togther at the show to actualize then it was a very profitable show for me
|
I think they will all merge into one hall next year. AEE was dominated by dot com companys and even some new foriegn companies. reaching the consumer and doing B2B is what the wave of the future holds I bvelieve.

Thanks. :) |
The shows are what you make of it. While the floor might have been dead, those who were smart had made plans ahead of time and had meetings set up in small groups. Works very well really.
|
I hear Phoenix is the show.
:pimp |
i'll definitely hit xbiz... didn't hit internext for many of the same reasons people posted here
