I'm browsing GFY on my new 30" LCD
and it sucks. I hate widescreen and its completely overwhelming. It hurts my eyes unless I make it very dark and then everything is ugle. Don't buy one. I'll be giving this one away.
I'll take it
dude i own a room in the local famous player theatre, people complain about the sound banners imagine when i mouse over them and the dolby surround kicks in.
19 is more than enough...

Just give it some time, I bet you come to love it. I use an apple 20 inch lcd and it took a few days for me to get used to it after having a 17 studio display for so long.
what resolution does that thing run at?
Good for you, I;m browsing GFY and scratching my nuts ;-)

Anyway, I called my mom and told her that her favorite son got her a big monitor. I have had a 21" crt in the past. I'm getting dual 21.3" syncmasters now. They appear to be the biggest monitors that are not widescreen. |
If you don't like it just, drop it off:)

24" is 1900x1600 and also widescreen but I do like it a lot, it does work faster and more efficient. However, 30" might be to much. |

Sweet..I want one of those badboys..off to Dell
The larger it is, the further away you need to move it.
you need to get a better video card that can handle the native resolution. It will look much better at the native resolution
Dell has their 30" lcds for 1049 in their outlet center.
btw i have the 24in dell. When i first got it i was actually feeling nauseous after viewing it for a while. I lowered the brightness to about 30% and moved it back on my desk a little bit and now its perfect. I also have 3 samsung 204b 20.1 in monitors. But i prefer the dell.
That's very kind of you.
I have already removed the monitor from my desk and informed mom she hit the monitor lottery. Even with a better video card i would still hate widescreen, it would still be too bright (i turned it down but everything was ugly), and too overwhelming (my desk doesn't offer many options as to where to put the monitor. I have to be 2.5 to 3 ft away), and there would be no room for duals. I think I'll be much happier with two 21.3" samsungs at 4:3.
You show-off... hehehe!
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 214T which of course is a 21.4 inch monitor and I think it's perfect. I often think about going with a big one like that, but feel that it'd be too big.
Your mom must be happy by now.

Isn't Iiyama the best?
In The Netherlands they offer superior service, if anything happens with your monitor after 2 years. They will pick it up, provide a replacement monitor of the same size for free within aprox. 1 day and fix it at low costs (e.g. 100 euro). |
lol yeah, dont need that kinda crazy stuff
No one pointed out that I said "ugle" instead of ugly. The nice crew must be workign gfy tonight.
I've got 2 Apple 30' on my computer and another 2 30s on some of my other work stations. It's pretty handy for certain applications. I'm actually thinking of adding another one (or 2) for the full wrap around experience.
Dude, if you don't want it I'll take it! |
I got my dual 21.3" and thought for sure I'd be happy. I mean, the are as big as 4:3 monitors go..... anyway.... I'd rather have my 30" back now, lol. And I'd buy a 2nd to run duals.
Cool !!!!!!!!!!
just takes some time, give it a week and see if u feel the same way
That is huge one
I have the same 30" DELL running at 2560X1600 and it's awesome.
