She should go and sue her neighbor for the damage caused to her home, then receive every penny she lost. The most important thing is she is fine.

djroof 01-17-2007 12:20 PM

Damn... that sucks!

Idiot - this had NOTHING to do with her, but a neighbor who was the moron. Granted there is a thing such as renters insurance, but most of the people out there just don't think things like this will happen. It's very sad and my heart goes out to her. She is a very sweet girl and has done some work for Vivid under Vivid Alt. She is a hard working cute chick who needs a break here. Don't be an ass.....

Boobs 01-17-2007 12:23 PM

Yep without a doubt you need that. You never know what will happen to your things because of a stupid neighbor.

MetaMan 01-17-2007 01:39 PM

ALWAYS prepare with an ash tray before smoking crack. :2 cents:

hollinator 01-17-2007 01:45 PM

bump bump bump

Arab_Sex 01-17-2007 01:49 PM

Terrible thing, but their is something called INSURANCE, as someone else pointed out.

If shes a person of good character and quality, then she should have money banked from some of the gigs she did.

To blast her misfortune, and gather people to " donate" because " she only has the suitcase" she took to vegas with her is nonsense.

There were webmasters WHO LOST their ENTIRE LIVELYHOOD from Paymonde...I didnt see any of you say " lets all pitch in and help them out.

Webmasters who have kids, newborns, BILLS .....I didnt see any of you rush to create a donate button for them.

She lost her apt, sorry to hear that, but dont send some errand boy with a sob story about " all i have left is my stripper outfit and shoes"

Put your gear on, and go shake your ass and tits for the money!.

inabon 01-17-2007 01:51 PM

question is threadstarter isn't an icon in this biz i am sure he has a lot of $$$ to lend/help/donate(tax deduction for charity)

why post ??

if she can get her ass to panama i can help lots of work and good housing for little $$$$

hehe

WarChild 01-17-2007 01:52 PM

If you can afford to go to Vegas, you can afford Tennant's insurance.

I don't think this is really about insurance as much as it's about people most people don't know asking for money. I feel sorry for her, just as I feel sorry for anyone who loses their home to fire, flood, or whatever natural disaster hits.

But I don't recall her ever posting on the board and I'm guessing most of the board won't know who she is. Would she be helping any of us if our house burnt down? If it was a GFY regular, I could see everyone pitching in to help. I think some people just get annoyed with the barrage of donation threads for people who probably didn't give two shits about us the other day.

My comment was not directed at you - it was directed at the person who posted the heartless comment. Yes, we see them everyday (charity posts), doesn't mean it gives someone the right to be an ass. Didn't our parents teach us "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all." Additonally, there are lots of people here who post just to post and say things that are totally uncalled for we all know that.

And certainly some people here will know her, as I do.

BuggyG 01-17-2007 02:40 PM

yeah got that msg in myspace inbox too
didn't check it out yet

tony286 01-17-2007 03:03 PM

Poor girl but this should be a lesson to people who rent, renters insurance is cheap and you can be insured up the ass for about 200 bucks a year.

Oh what a great great world it would be if we all followed that axiom :thumbsup

Of course, then there would be absolutely zero truth in any of our communications.

Theo Anthony 01-17-2007 03:15 PM

I hate to say this, but the IDIOT has a point. Does she not have a savings account? Can she not get new clothes?? I am sure that she has Insurance, and that they are getting her a new place to stay. THEY HAVE TO BY LAW.

So back the fuck off of him for pointing out a fact, that she should have her shit together.

First thing I thought when i opened this thread.

pornguy 01-17-2007 03:38 PM

And I feel bad for her as well. If she had hit up a friend for a loan, then I could under stand. But taking donations?? Think she will pay those people back? Not likely.

Why do people who DO think have to pay for people who do NOT think... I guess that is just what he meant and Im afraid I have to agree.

Try reading what I wrote - it was simply that if you don't have something nice to say, there's no reason to post... This is a thread for people who have a heart and want to help. Not for haters....

Cyndalie 01-17-2007 04:01 PM

Renters insurance is flaky at best, and is more in place to protect the landlord than the renter. I wish her well starting over, terrible situation.

Brad 01-17-2007 04:05 PM

that sucks. I hope that she get's everything back in order. i can't imagine loosing all of my shit. I guess it's time for me to get some insurance after reading about this.

It called compassion... after compassion comes karma, the thing to remember about both is what comes around goes around... :winkwink:

Jhcbiinoc 01-17-2007 04:39 PM

Nothing wrong with compassion, the world needs more of it. Haven't had to deal with a fire, but was robbed once and found myself in a similar situation. Just sent a donation, and wish her and her boyfriend well.

shekinah 01-17-2007 05:56 PM

Too bad for her, I suggest those careless people should learn their lessons:thumbsup

Halcyon 01-17-2007 06:22 PM

I knew most GFYers would react coldly. But I thought there might be people that worked with her or admired her work that would want to help.

I've been helped when I needed it.
I've helped others.
But I do my best never to be cruel or rude to people because they are in need...regardless whose fault their situation is.

In fact, on the way home from the airport, I handed some old granola bars to a guy at the offramp. (I buy expired ones at the swap meet to give to homeless.)

He asked if I had any blankets.
I looked at his dirty face and remembered how cold its been.
So as the light went green, I was outside of my car, pulling an old airline blanket from the trunk of my car to give to him.

It's fine if you don't want to give him food, money, or clothes. But I bet some of you are the same types who were honking at me for holding them up. As if the delay they experienced was somehow more painful than the night this guy has ahead of him. Blows my mind sometimes.

RAM 01-17-2007 06:23 PM

Sucks big time.

Dana is Super COOl...in fact that picture U posted of her is from a AssMasterPiece.com Scene...and yes....I was in it !!!!

Will send her a message and see if I can help...I'm telling ya...she is Super COOL !!!!

Seriously! What kind of people are these? Do you go to the hospital and go room to room, "Why are you so clumsy!?" "I guess you shouldn't have smoked." etc.

You really dont know what your talking about

Big_Red 01-17-2007 06:41 PM

50....,:(

Furious_Female 01-17-2007 09:55 PM

Ya know, FUCK all the people that say INSURANCE. Yes, insurance can pay for many things... if you have it. What about the things you can't replace with money? Losing everything you have not only hurts your pockets but your spirit. How do you put insurance on your entire life? I'd like to see everyone on GFY have to start all over, from stratch. :disgust
