2 forms of ID for models is a massive pain in the ass
 

I figured I would ask what you guys are doing before I go crazy and climb a bell tower... I have been in talks with my lawyer all week about 2257 stuff and having 2 forms of Photo ID...

Now he is telling me the only way is with a drivers license AND a passport... now maybe out side of the USA most people have passports, but over here the odds of a girl that has both a passport and a photo ID AND does porn... well thats pretty remote in my experience with first time girls... and lets face facts a fair number of these girls are not all that bright :(


What do all you content producing people use as forms of ID for your girls? Or what is your 2257 plan?

Yea, sounds like major red tape.

2257 is 2257 its what separates the companies from the avg consumer grabbing a deal at best buy and shooting some content and throwing a site up thinking it's going to make him fat cash... you have to spend money... get them another form of ID.. not just passport if thats what your attorney is telling you then I suggest getting a new attorney because he is not aware of 2257.. there are sites on the web you can read as well.. but you may have to invest some cash to get them "legal to work" just because a girl has 2 forms of ID that say she is over 18 does not mean she is legal to work.. even if it is a passport... I have been shooting since 2000 and havent found an inssue with ID's yet.. and we shoot all over the country... I think your issue here is your attorney....

Your attorney would appear to have given you a very, very conservative opinion, one that would cover your ass from here to eternity.

You might want to get a second opinion from someone who actually handles the porn business.

2 ID's is standard... Better going to the trouble than getting fucked over later on.

There are currently no US rules or requirements on a secondary ID, just rules for a primary ID. Secondary ID's although not required are just often used by content producers as an extra level of security.

I get a minimum of three forms of id everytime.

We are not talking about letting the models borrow your pink hat, we are just talking about if they want to suck some pud.

I do not know about other states but I know in Rhode Island they took my state ID when I got my license(I felt this was BS since I paid for it)... I have heard/seen other people keep their state ID, but they either cut up the corners or punch it full of holes... is this different in other states?

according to the revised regs, it's a violation of 2257 to maintain more than ONE piece of photo ID, or rather the revised regulations stipulate that you must keep on record one copy or one piece of photo ID that is government issued - with which, by having two, you are in violation.

You need one form of picture ID that is valid, has a birthdate, and a clear pic that is the subject issued by the government, a state govenrment, or a subdivision there of, i.e.,(county ID). Two ID's is bullshit. it never was law. However, its always best to have 2 to verifiy the legitamacy of the first. Read the regulations, hire an attorney, and of one says you NEED two, fire him.

I usually get 2 forms as well. or a SS card, try to see as much as possible to back up the primary ID but the law does not require you to have 2 gov issued ID's.
