Think I am going to pick up a 2005 S4 today..
Been eyeing that car for awhile now. Anyone own one?

Here's an interesting video on the subject:

also - BMW inline 6 has the big turbo, this V8 is NA. Hard to compare these two engines, choosing a car is a matter of personal preference, both are top class.. I'll just repost a link to a must-see commercial for all audi fans :winkwink: https://youtube.com/watch?v=350tD8E7htM |

if you lived anywhere where it snows once in a while, you'd curse your bmw each time you have to load two bags of cement or anything else heavy in the trunk to keep it moving at all (while a guy in a quattro drives by laughing). So, agreed - if you live somewhere sunny & dry all-round, get the M3 convertible. If you have seasons - audi.. (This is not the 1st time people are discussing the same topic :) |

if he was going for some thing new fresh off the truck the 335i would be a great choice but this is a 8k-ish price drop since its used |
danevans, I agree with you... when it's snowing I leave my BMW at home and drive my girlfriend's renault twingo instead :)

about the turbo - I was mislead by the posts above, never gave much attention to M3 engine setups about snow - I have no experience with an M, however two of my very good friends have 3 series (e46), and I've seen them have problems in bad weather (U turns, or once we had to push him out of the slight downhill parking lot, and I had no problems with my audi A4, parked next to him).. Same thing with a mercedes C class (mid size, rwd cars) etc. If I lived in California or same type of weather - bdjuf's choice is cool. Here - I'd still go with an audi (I owned a Audi200 ("5000", or just "quattro" in US, I'm not sure, before a4) so why change brand if I'm completely satisfied? Anyway, BMW-nuts, have a look here http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/3741/rear1yc8zt4.jpg sweet car & ROFL @ plates.. & zEn84, are those pics coming? :) |
i drove an e46 in winter and no problems
just need good winter tires ill have a vid of some action from tonight for now hes from last snow fall in 06 http://media.putfile.com/RafStar-e46-winter-DORIFUTO http://media.putfile.com/RafStar-e46...ifuto-Figure-8 sorry if my hands were shaking lol |
Well I went yesturday to go an get it, called before hand to make sure they still had it, they did. But when I arrived it had already been sold :( Oh well, just got to keep my eyes open for more deals. It was an 05 S4, only 29k on it, no accidents,, fucking mint. Was going for 43K canadian. *sigh*
|
BMW not the best in the snow, but with proper snow tires goes alright if the snow is not too deep. The S4 on the other hand is a handling machine in any weather condition, I found it hard to slide in the snow even when trying.
Both are very nice rides IMO |
looks like a great car :thumbsup
|
You can't go wrong with an Audi!
|
go go go it's a great car, i love all audis

|
Gives me a classy clean feel

Those car dealers are such asses its like u call before
hand to pick up the car and they most likely straight up lied to you (they knew it was sold) but they said it was still there just to get you in . Fucking SLime ... |
