There is not really anything unusual about this.

When soldiers deploy, wartime, or peace time, the sluts that some of them married consider it to be playtime.

When a unit returns, wife beating, and spousal murders are not out of the norm.

I saw an old movie the other day with a black guy that returned from vietnam war. His wife was all day with a black pimp dude because she said he was paying for their kid's milk and several expenses. They had several fights because the man didnt have a good paying job when he returned from the war. After all the shit he was hearing all day long he decided to rob a bank with some other friends......at the end they caught him and on the court the judge called him the most useless human on earth.....but the guy was a heroe.

If you isolate all political aspects on the vietnam issue, the soldiers that went there were heroes. Real heroes. The sad thing is that goverments treated them like shit and this is common among war heroes independent country. They go fight for all the rest of us and they returned back being in lower position than they used to be....at the end they get crazy.

This is a tragedy - these guys sacrifice their lives to carry out special operations that hold things together etc and it is a shame that they are not better psychologically supported if that is at all possible.

They are not better psycologically supported because the government doesn't give a shit about them. The general public in normal times without war don't understand and don't care what kind of problems the former-soldiers are going through, and won't push the government to give them better treatment. Just like most people think that bums live on the street because they're either too lazy or too stupid to become independent. Most of those people just have serious mental issues, and we have never cared to want more treatment for them, have we?
