Depends on the ship. Most do not have it available in the rooms but they do in the lobby/atriums as well as Internet Cafe on the ship. The wireless tends to go up and down as does the satellite connection.

It's not cheap. On my last cruise my Internet bill was around $200, if I recall correctly.

I think it was around 10 bucks for every 30 minutes.

Thanks guys but the best would be to have internet in my room. Who saw that option in a cruise? It seems to be about impossible.

I've never seen that option but I didn't want to say it does not exist. If it does, it would have to be on a brand new ship. I can't imagine getting a wireless signal through all that steel so it would need to be hard wired in.

just went last year on a Carnival ship, , The Valor. It was crazy expensive for internet, they have wireless but i ended up spending like 150 for the week, my friend spent like 300 just for internet.

I'm leaving in 2 weeks on the Princess cruise line and my suite has internet in the room, but it's $5k a week. The other rooms don't have it but anyone can access it from designated place.

on Carnival you get it in your rooms if you want but its very very expensive.

Thy may have in some high end rooms or on the new ships but I've been on that piece of shit cruise line and they did not have it in the rooms.

Damn cool thanks for the answer. It seems to be really expensive for that :(

Blocks of minutes can be bought on most cruises. On the cruise I went on last year I was able to pick up the signal in my cabin.

I am going on a cruise next week and my cabin is 2 floors directly above the internet cafe. I am hoping I can pick up a signal from my cabin again. I also have a wireless broadband card from Sprint so whenever we are near a port I should be able to pick up an internet connection.

Be prepared to cough up around $250 though.

My son has been on several cruises where the internet is free and accessible from any point on the ship. The cruise company even pays him to take the cruise. He has been to singapore, hong kong, australia, thailand, alaska, hawaii, and all points in between.

The only hitch was he had to agree to do it any time they asked for four years :thumbsup

Oh yeah, almost forgot, as part of the deal, he sometimes gets shot at.
