Anyone making money 'made in China'?

With a population of over 1.3 Billion, this market is too large to ignore.

Credit Card Penetration there still low, apparantly Sleazydreams thinks otherwise...

Anyone making (credit card) sales from there?

StarkReality 01-12-2007 07:36 AM

I see traffic from china, but no sales...probably because they monitor credit card transactions for those who have one and you could get problems buying any kind of porn. Not sure about the laws, but running porn sites there is definately illegal in china...and credit cards are the invention of the "capitalistic enemy".

So, I don't expect much money from there until the political system changes.

That is ood one man :)

I was reading that a webmaster in China got life in prison for operating four sites and that his four employees are all facing a year in jail for their part as well. Given the political climate in China and this recent news, I don't imagine that too many ppl in China are interested in risking a jail term to look at porn. Hopefully in the future that will change, but for now, i think it's probably not going to be a very successful market.

You might want to consider sending that traffic to one of our consumer facing sites which utilise phone billing - something they all have.:thumbsup

Thus, a Chinese surfer will see http://www.pinaccesscode.com/index.p...pLangu age=es

Since China does not have domestic premium rate (900) billing, the payouts are not high ($0.50 per password sold) but, hey, $0.50 better that $0.00:)

taken from : http://resources.alibaba.com/article...in_Ch ina.htm

"Despite a growing Internet-savvy middle class, online purchases in China have been slow to take off with traditional payment systems. Credit card-based payment systems that succeeded in North America and Europe have proven ineffective in China, where credit card usage remains low. Even more important than credit card penetration rates, is the issue of trust between buyers and sellers in a business environment where personal relationships and cash-based transactions have served as the traditional means of securing and settling a deal."

For the 50 cent countries, how much is the surfer charged?

It depends - there are many variables - it depends on the carrier & priceplan of the consumer as to how much they pay to make a regular IDD call, usually to Liechtenstein.

Some are using VoIP (Skype & Co.) to get their passwords...

DaddyHalbucks 01-12-2007 11:20 AM

Yes, send your Chinese traffic here:

http://www.passwordbyphone.com

China is not a question of "IF" --it's only a question of.. "WHEN."

:winkwink:

Thanks... do you have a rough idea... like $2 to $10 ?

so if they use VOIP they would only pay for a local call or get it free?
