Hi, i hooked up my pc computer with 42" plasma screen.

Text is kinda blurry, any ideas how to fix this or any idea if its good to do that ?

Thanks

starpimps 01-11-2007 09:58 PM

lol ummm, your gonna have burn-in i suggest you not do that

donkevlar 01-11-2007 10:00 PM

Even if I knew the answer I wouldnt tell you, purely out of jealousy. I could sure use that for making music videos..

Yep, but on other hand

you can watch DVD's, Music Videos, Play Games and quality is just amazing plus if you have home theater system is just too amazing.

abshard 01-11-2007 10:33 PM

I have my plasma conected to a computer, but not to surf the web or work. I use it to watch movies and tv shows that i stream off my home network.

Huggles 01-11-2007 11:53 PM

You need to use a DVI cable, I use a 37" 1080p Westinghouse... it is AMAZING.

That's one great pc set-up.

bobby666 01-12-2007 04:47 AM

nice workspace there, i just got used to my 20"

notabook 01-12-2007 05:02 AM

Man... any screen bigger than around 21" really starts to hurt my eyes when I try to read text on it for an extended period of time. Dunno how the hell people adjust to 37"+ tv's to use as monitors.

Much easier than a 21"

MUCH easier on the eyes

1920x1080

My eyes are just damn weird I guess. I have great ears (can hear a pin drop in a room with a blasting sound system), but shitty eyes. Anything above 1280x1024 and my eyes just start to ache (when it comes to reading text for some strange damn reason). I also have troubles with blues on reds and vice versa (It's hard for me to look at any image with a lot of red/blue color in it). Fucking eyes

flashfire 01-12-2007 05:18 AM

use the DVI but you dont wanna leave static graphics on there for too long...movies and stuff are fine though

whoa, fucking nice :thumbsup

FlowerKid 01-12-2007 05:26 AM

Make sure the PC resolution matches your TV's native panel resolution. Use a DVI or HDMI connection. If your TV has HDMI there are DVI -> HDMI adapters.

nice looking ..:)

42" is too big. You'd have to turn your head everytime you move the mouse from the left side screen to the right. :upsidedow

BV 01-12-2007 06:31 AM

I would like it if it was twice that resolution like maybe 3840 x 2160 or higher.
Would be better than having 2 monitors. You could have 3+ browser windows open horizontally on that.

4Man 01-12-2007 07:18 AM

That is too fucking BIG!!!!!

selena 01-12-2007 08:29 AM

That monitor makes the keyboard look eensy in comparison.

Nice!

42" monitor? thats insane!

L-Pink 01-12-2007 09:35 AM

Make a folder "stuff" move all your icon's into it, place in lower left corner. If there is a chance of burn-in you have greatly limited it.

Tuga 01-12-2007 09:35 AM

Use that for movies and games only.

MikeVega 01-12-2007 09:43 AM

Here's some info on what causes it and how to prevent it and even fix ghost images ... http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/p...tv-burnin.html

Boomer2 01-12-2007 02:10 PM

Dirty F 01-12-2007 03:30 PM

is that a Logitech MX518 mouse I see there?

King Adam 01-12-2007 03:33 PM

What the hell does anyone need a screen bigger than 21" for?

Unless you are doing presentations, I don't see the point.

I think some of you are spending a wee bit too much time on your computers.

Multitasking. :D

Huggles 01-12-2007 03:38 PM

You guys have no idea, no idea how much easier this monitor is on my eyes.

I used to get strain on a 17, 19, or 21, with this 37", I have NEVER had eye strain.

Also, no, you don't have to move your head, ever. Any higher resolution and I would have to sit closer to the screen to read the text. This way, I can lean back in my chair about 2.5-3 feet from the screen and work in comfort. For games, nothing beats it, fucking amazing picture.

Send me 300 sales and I'll buy you one ;)

flashfire 01-12-2007 03:41 PM

too big? I use a projector with a 92" screen...not for work but we watch movies, download music, check email ect. on it. And games wooooooooot!

no such thing as too big

I multitask just fine on a 21". Plus I don't like having all my programs on my laptop. I have 3 computers behind me on a KVM switch. So I never have one machine getting all bogged down with 10 apps running on it.

I have the 24in dell widescreen. When i first got it i thought it might be too big but now im looking at that new 27in they just came out with :)

lot 01-12-2007 04:23 PM

imo the size in no way affects the text which is blurry, so why to mention that...

DaddyHalbucks 01-12-2007 04:26 PM

Nice setup I see.

SGx 01-12-2007 04:35 PM
