Anyone else getting virus bombed??
Anyone? I'm getting 2-3 in my email a day, thank god for Norton. Pissed of gallery submitter perhaps?
|
I get a few day as well, with some funky written text.
I also have norton. |
Probably 'Klez' I'd think...
If so, dont worry, its just life. I actually had to stop using my co.uk email, because every time I sent n recived, I had about 50+ of the lil buggers ;-) Luv Lay xx |
Since posting an email addy for legal/trademark related inquiries on the index page of one of my sites I've been getting Klez emails 4-5 times a day.
I just made an incoming mail rule in outlook to kill everything coming to that address with an attachment. Seems to be working. |
haha 2 or 3... I have been getting several hundred a day for the last year.
|
me too... bastards!
|
Yeh i get 2-3 klez emails per day
|
I hear your pain!
I am getting hit by 100 - 300 virus emails each day, in my many email boxes. It's insane. The really scary part is seeing the faked headers making it look like it comes from other webmasters, or even looking like it came from yourself. I've even seen fake headers saying it was from PK! ;) My favorites are when I get them saying they are from microsoft! heh heh |
I get those All day long It started about 6months ago for me.
about 20 a day every once in a while I fall for one with a fake header. ctrl, alt ,delete |
i get around 200 :/
i still cant find a away to stop this shit |
i do know its from sextracker tho
try to put ur email address on ur website like blahblah[at]blah[dot]com then those fuckers cant hit u up |
http://www.mailwasher.net
Free download ... works great .... it's shareware but your not required to register it. Although I liked it so much I spent the 20 bucks. It views the mail right from the server and also bounces spam back as if your email address doesn't exist. :thumbsup |
Yeah I get 200+ per day too. Actually I only get about 4 or 5 per day to my desktop, the other 200 are filtered out by my isp and I just get a courtesy email letting me know that they detected a virus and deleted the email. I like that. With NAV on my desktop as well, it's like wearing 2 condoms.
:) I've said it before and I will say it again... virus writers, hackers and spammers cost each of us hundreds and thousands of dollars per day, by chasing people away from the net. Who, other than internet professionals, has the patience for dealing with this shit. Most regular people are spending less and less time on the net because they can't stand these fucking viruses (and spam too!) |
I treat my e-mail like my front door... If I'm not expecting something I'm not gonna open it!

Has anyone tracked bandwidth of their emails in and out?
Of any of you who have, have you found that it can get into the 10's of GB per month from all these huge virus emails? I am just wondering if that's possible. I have about 15 GB of bandwidth unaccounted for in a month. (and yes, I know that there is both in and out bandwidth, and that the apache logs only track out, and they ignore http headers, and they only deal with http. Also, other things like FTP logs don't even account for 0.1 GB, so that 15 GB remaining is from who knows where...?). Any thoughts? |
