How the fuck do you keep socks white?
Well I have hardwood floors and my socks tend to get pretty dirty at the end of the day (unless I'm cleaning it daily). But no matter how I wash those fuckers, they always seem to maintain a grey tint on the bottom. Is there some secret to keeping them white like new?

Only wear socks in slippers or other footwear. And use bleach.

stop walking in cowshit yo. :thumbsup
JK BTW......:winkwink: |
My mom used to do something with lemon juice and some other things... I'll have to ask her - been meaning to for years anyways.
|
are you entering some sort of sock fashion show? why does it matter?
|
|
only fags and women wear white socks.
men wear black. |
With love.

get yourself a wife maybe :)

We have hardwoods too. Same problem. Bleach eats holes in your clothes and they never come out as white as the commercials. Borax helps some.
Non chlorine bleach.. not a prayer. Maybe new hardwoods are treated differently and don't dirty them the same way, but our house and floors are 100 years old and even refinished and cleaned, they still make our socks dingy. It's hard to make everyone in the house wear slippers. We have to buy a bag of socks every couple weeks at Target. Can't send the family out in ratty socks. |
Simple. Bleach solution.

My hardwood doesn't dirty my white socks, but I am sort of a clean freak. Do you damp mop your floors often? I use this special kind of mop meant for hardwood and tile that is machine washable.

Old farmer's trick- use a dash of gasoline in your next laundry load. Works wonders with everything.
|
You can use black socks so It wouldn't look messy:thumbsup
|
I buy grey socks. lol
|
The swifer mop thing works wonders.
Then for cleaning use straight bleach, and about a half cup white vinegar, and a regular scoop of detergent or oxy clean. Otherwise invest in a few boxes of throw away booties. |
I buy new socks all the time,,,,with grey bottoms
|
1 cup of hydrogen peroxide with a gallon of water, soak over night then wash as normal.
|
A little bleach works and they have fabric safe bleach as well:thumbsup

2 years ago I bought 120 pairs of white socks on eBay, some of them are still white, they are the ones that haven't been used more than 5 times, after that, even if I use bleech, they go greyish

how do you not bust your ass on hardwood floors when just wearing socks?
I have alot of tile in my house, and if I just wear socks, I can literaly slide about 10 feet. It freaks my dog out. |
I have tile floors.
Solutions (as mentioned above): 1. Black socks 2. Slippers |

White socks???
|
Buy them a lot and change every day.
|
hmm , I have about 50+ (used) pairs of socks , and about 100+ brand new in closet. Just change them daily and wash the floor , this should solve the problem :)
|
part of the reason I pretty much only own black socks
|
bleach will turn your whites a dull color over time.. try Oxyclean...I havent used bleach for years..and my whites look like whites
|
this seems like a proper question for gfy :)
I wanted to register socksforum but then I thought all spammers would join |
Not using them
|
I couldn't justify buying new socks too often
not a money issue, rather how I was raised I would never throw out new socks after just a few times of me wearing them |
who the fuck in their right mind wear white socks unless they are playing tennis?

Bleach periodically :)

In this house, if the laundry slut finds a hole in one, it's time to replace them all. Yes, all of them. I never run out of socks for dusting.
