Question; when you fly...

Do you have an airline preference?

I pretty much always use America West (now US Airways), not because I necessarily love them but their rates are usually good & now I am a Preferred Member so it's nice to get through security quickly and get free first class bumps every now & then.
But they are killer with their change fees and the customer service number is terrible!:(

What airline have you had good or bad experiences with? Do you prefer one over another?

I prefer Delta they have your own custom monitor with A & E : cold case files, I also prefer 6 bottles of crown royal and 2 ginger ales, as well as a handful of limes, and somewhere close to the bathroom

oh and snack, like cheese and sausage, big sausage

btw southwest rocks too they sing and shit

British Airways does it better for me, Air France as well is pretty good, in north america, I'd go for AW. In Canada, WestJet.

I use Southwest Airlines because it is inexpensive, and goes to the cities I frequent the most.

Once you have mastered their no reserved seats system, you can get a great seat every time. Be sure to register for their frequent flyer program too.

TIP: If you are going to an event like CES, and you know there is going to be a mass exodus out of town, book the earliest flight possible, then let them bump you for a later flight and you can get vouchers for a future flight (and sometimes cash too).

Jeez, I'm starting to sound like Anal Hobbit...

air canada for the points..but they suck..i need to switch

Kiwigirl 01-10-2007 02:18 PM

When flying international I only fly Qantas.
When flying within the US I also go with us airways and havent had any bad experiences with them so far. Knock on wood. LOL
I have been on Southwest and I dont like the first come first serve policy as far as seating arrangement is concerned so I always select an airline that issues a seat.

I try to fly United. They seem to travel everywhere I go, and if they don't one of the Star Alliance partners does, and I get the miles.

I have an elite status with them now, and can not preach enough how people need to get with a mileage program.

I've had my ups and downs with them, but I fly Continental Airlines. One of their hubs is in Cleveland, so I can get just about anywhere I need within the US and Canada and their routes to Latin America and Overseas are always improving. I also fly them often enough to have Platinum status with them for 3 years in a row now, so I enjoy free first class upgrades on all flights with a first class cabin.

I have an airline I refuse to fly with, thats American Airlines. No wonder they always have seats available on last minute flights, they suck so badly. I personally prefer WestJet and British Airways, both are awesome and treat you like a person!

I'm a big Southwest fan for flying within the US for a few reasons:
#1: hardly ever been delayed
#2: great rapid rewards program. free round trip tix build up easily if you fly a lot
#3: as a part of the rapid rewards program you get free drink tix for your flights

people hate the cattle call boarding, but you can check in online up to 24 hours in advance and get in that 'Group A' boarding. As long as you do that, you can pretty much pick either an aisle or window seat; whichever you prefer.

the no delay factor is huge with me. seems like every time i fly us air, delta or american i always get delayed. fucking hate that. :2 cents:

Z 01-10-2007 03:57 PM

Delta's ok, American sucks my balls, Southwest and Air Tran ROCK!

Sosa 01-10-2007 04:08 PM

American lost our luggage on our way to the Bahamas so fuck em. I prefer United and then Northwest. Haven't had a chance to fly southwest yet.

_Rush_ 01-10-2007 04:16 PM

I don't. I just go with what's cheaper and shorter. I hate being in transit in airports.

_Richard_ 01-10-2007 04:21 PM

I've never had a problem with aircanada..

:1orglaugh

Now that flying is no longer fun, I fly as cheap as possible, bury myself in my ipod and a book.

Timbo 01-10-2007 09:13 PM

AA has to be the worst airlines ever. I am continuously amazed at how shitty they treat you. I fly SW 90% of the time now. Extremely helpful, great rewards, etc.

TzarJorge 01-10-2007 09:26 PM

I am member of Club Condor and LanPass (Argentina's and Chile's airlines) Lan is sightly better, but i dont have a real preference, i ussualy pick the best deal around.

TSGlider 01-10-2007 09:52 PM

JetBlue rocks. A Lot of leg room and DirecTV on every headrest.

madawgz 01-11-2007 12:20 AM

i hate flying, fuck that

id rather walk

TCAP 01-11-2007 12:40 AM

Jetblue is great, I would use them more if they flew out of LAX instead of Burbank

EscortBiz 01-11-2007 12:45 AM

a few things about making flying better

fedex now has a program where they ship your entire luggage, so I ship it 2 days prior and when i arrive to the hotel its there (they can do overnight too obviously but just to be safe), makes it way easier

the thing is even if you fly say dela business or first one plane might be upto date one might be some old washed up seats

flying using private planes is getting cheaper daily especially if you wanna travel say with 8-12 people
