Why the Apple iPHONE will suck too!
My ipod - factory says battery lasts 18hours. i've done everything with the battery to the letter from the factory, even had a replacement battery, at most i get 2-3 hours of use.
My pda - manufacturer says that the battery(moto q) lasts 3 days or 4-5 hours of talk time. once again i have done everything to the factory specs out of the box. the standby is kinda ok, talk time maybe an hour and a half. don't even mention the internet and the data plan thats an extra 40 bucks a month. with internet use, i am lucky to get a solid 1 hour and a half at most with talk time, standby and light internet use in a 8 hour period. until someone makes a nuclear phone or better batteries, all products like these will suck. there is no way that little thing is gonna have a battery to support the bells and whistles and energy drain its going to take to run a phone, ipod, internet surfing, pda, and whatever else its gonna do. try watching movies, playing mp3s, using the phone, and surfing the internet on that tiny device, and watch that battery go bye bye bye like Nsync. i love the idea behind it and i was almost ready to shell out the 599 whenever its available for the 8 gig one, then i really thought about it. i've never had a pda or a phone or an mp3 player that ever once lived up to its battery specs. at the very most i've gotten 50% of what the factory says it will do. maybe they should give this one to china and let kim il nuke make it for the world. :1orglaugh |
There will be good aftermarket battery options available right away.
Every since I got into the phone accessory game years ago, I never use a factory battery, because there is always something stronger the aftermarket is popping out for them. |
yeah, like laptops, the specs said 4hrs of bat and in real life it will last less than 2hrs. The iPhone is going to be a iPod that will have the ability to connect to a cell phone, just like what they did with the fm radio.

surfing for porn greatly impacts battery life on your phone/pda

:1orglaugh more like surfing gfy's intensive graphical load at dinner bumping threads. td we need a wap version of gfy , lol. |
My 5G 60 GB iPod video consistently gets 10-11 hours of audio playback or about 2-2.5 hours of video playback after a year of near-daily use. Factory specs are 15 hours for audio and 3.5 for video.

My IPOD works great. I once drove my motorcycle from Phoenix to San Diego, and the IPOD continued the entire trip - nearly eight hours.
|
My iPod shuffle played an entire 16 hour shift one day. You probably got a bunk one (that happens with every brand, nothing can be done- they cant QC every one manufactured), contact Apple.

I'm sure there wil be issues along the way with the iphone, but you have to admit its got some killer shit, and even if it does turn out to have a bug here or there, so what, it is still miles ahead of the competition. |
Never had a problem with my iPod battery life.
Ya, the iPhone will suck, that's why business idiots like Google & Yahoo are supporting it so much, cuz they love stuff that sucks. |
fuck ipod!
apple needs QC. lol. one person tells 10, in this case, 100's LOL |

IMO all Apple products in the last 10 years have been designed to be seen, not used. Kind of frustrating actually (went through a couple Ipod batteries myself, now I use a Sony mp3 player which is the size of a shuffle but with a screen and lasts for days :) )

Fuel Cell batteries are coming
once that happens all will change! :2 cents: Samsung claims that the fuel cell offers an energy density of 650Wh/L, which is about four times as much as competing offerings. The total energy storage is an impressive 12,000Wh which, depending on the laptop's power settings and usage could theoretically power the laptop continuously for a whole month without the need for recharging. :pimp |

That iPhone have Bluetooth? I've got Bluetooth built into my hearing aids. It's pretty sl33k with a cell phone, because it transmits to both ears, and it's cordless of course.

i have no doubt it will sell, some of you aren't getting the point.
phone talk time uses massive battery life internet surfing time uses even more than that for data transfer playing mp3s uses battery life watching videos uses twice the battery life that songs do there is no way these batteries can sustain the use that you desire to use the item for, no way. the fact that some of you got lucky with your ipod batteries is irrelevant, i know just as many people that the batteries don't work at all anymore. this is an issue of quadruple tasking the battery with 4 different luxuries. phone. ipod. internet. operating system. that's basically my point. i like what krosh is saying about fuel cell batteries. these devices are designed for them in my opinion. |
Also, dont forget with lithium batteries you have to actually charge them to full and drain them many times to work it up to its full potential.
If you get your phone, charge it full, then continue to charge after only draining a couple bars its going to severely gimp your battery. This goes for anything that uses them, like laptops, phones, PDA's, iPods etc. |
Forgot to mention, that after time you can start to charge those batteries with little use, but dont do it right away. You should still drain the batter completely, then give it a full charge every once in a while.

i wear my ipod while i am having sex

Fancy thin phones with big displays and tons of gizmos suck electricity the way a ho sucks a mean cock.
I got a basic LG phone, one that holds the large battery. There was a modest cost for the large battery. Never had a problem running out of juice (yet). :) |
Yes the battery will be the biggest problem, because everything else is so fucking brilliant!
