At least where I live..

Some time ago, I got hit by a taxi who then immediately hit another taxi. Due to the power of the syndicate here, the language barrier and the cops seeing a "rich American with deep pockets", it was all my fault by proxy.

After the negotiation period with everyone, including several people who were in no way involved, my car was taken off to the body shop and I was released from the cop car.

About 2 weeks later, something happened that I got a through and through bullet hole by a .25 auto. There was a lot of blood. Keeping my head about me, we got it stopped and needed to get it taken care of. Could not go to any hospital and all private offices were closed, it was now Sunday night. Finally found a doctor who would keep his business private, as I didn't want to explain this whole thing in a country where guns are highly illegal, so he came to us on a house call.

Car wreck: $50,000.00 pesos, 3 1/2 months recovery time in the body shop.

Gun shot: $500.00 pesos for the doctor, $150.00 pesos for the cane.

Recovery time, 2 1/2 months :winkwink:
