My Host:
My host changed their Name Servers. I asked for the new Name Servers, because I just purchased a new Domain Name.
The Name Servers they gave me are both prefaced with NS1. Can this be correct? Shoudn't it be NS1 & NS2? I have filed a trouble ticket but they are sometimes slow to respond. |
Never seen that. before. hmmm?
|
It doesn't matter what they are named.
They could be: JAY.WHATEVER.COM and SILENTBOB.WHATEVER.COM Brad |

Yeh, it doesn't really matter. Just depends on their settings... I've seen that before.
|
Path, you saying they are
ns1.tickleme.com ns1.tickleme.com Or 2 different subs? |
Though a primary and secondary need to be listed, they can both be the same though it's not a recommended practice by any means (kind of undermines the idea of redundancy). It's probably just an oversight on their part however, and they did actually mean to list the secondary as NS2.

if they are ns1.domain1.com and ns1.domain2.com it's ok. if they are ns1.domain1.com and ns1.domain1.com then it's not.

Unbelievable. The new Domain Name has been added and it should be propagating soon.
Quickest service ever. In addition they verified that the Name Server info was correct. Now if the new billing system works, come the 1st, that will be proof that there is a kind God. Well thanks again fellows for the input. |
