External Harddrives in Hand Luggage?
Well... on the one hand I would feel better having them on me all the time, on the other hand I am not sure if the security check-in people are going to be a bitch or not... (considering you can hardly bring baby milk with you on the plane)
what are your thoughts / experiences? I am really not sure what to do... oh and i am entering the US not leaving or anything |
I have not had an issue with anything on my laptop harddrive. But there was a thread on here a while ago with a border crossing to or from Canada where content caused an issue.

I Bring my 80Gusb backup drive in my carry on all the time.

jep
i just remembered the content thread and am wondering what would be best... safest for me would of course be carry on... |
any other comments?
|
seems not to be the case lol

i've been flying recently with my laptop in my hand luggage without any problems
|
I flew with my laptop and a USB drive recently from the UK to Egypt and Cyprus with no problems. Hopefully an external HD will be no different.

but how do you feel about bringing two external hds in your hand luggage? |
I flew recently with a camcorder and a laptop in handluggage, didn't cause any problems, but had to throw away my shaving cream (any containers over 100 ml are not allowed, even if they have less than 100 ml remaining of liquid/gel)
|
I just flew Delta international from Miami with both a 3.5" external drive and a small 2.5" external drive.
Not a problem at all. |
