If your wife dies how long before you can party?

I was looking at some cases where the spouse is being charged with killing the other spouse and a lot seems to hindge on partying and purchases
"soon" after the death.

I remember this lady who came to this bar I went to. Her husband died in a fire caused by a cigarette. People started whispering that she probably killed her husband because it was less then 2 weeks before she was back in the bar drunk as shit and looking for dick in an obvious way.
I think she was partying too hard way too soon, but I don't know.

How long is is long enough?

i'd say a year at least....come on now

bareskin 01-06-2007 12:24 PM

at least 24 hours, and if you really loved her than 48

emthree 01-06-2007 12:25 PM

Year seems to be standard.

4Man 01-06-2007 12:27 PM

This sounds right.

...if you were planning to divorce her anyway. :D

wyldworx 01-06-2007 12:38 PM

How ever long you feel comfortable with I guess...

thagreek 01-06-2007 12:47 PM

That is something you really wont know until it happens to you.

BigCashCrew 01-06-2007 12:52 PM

That's a tough question. It all depends on the person and how they deal with grief. It seems like a year is standard - at least what I've seen.

My friends dad is a minister. His wife died and 3 months later he was dating another woman. 6 months later he married her. A lot of people were pissed off at him and thought he was an asshole. I don't know what to think of it.

:1orglaugh ! If you want to divorce her she will never die... She's most likely to outlive you.

A year seems like a long time to me.
But I can see how a year is good for "appearance".

I bet most people are over it in a few months but have to keep the grief face on longer just for "moral" reasons.

scottybuzz 01-06-2007 01:23 PM

when u feel ready

Pinacolada 01-06-2007 01:28 PM

come on If you really loved her you should start the party in next few hours, because she would like a goodbye party:)

needlive 01-06-2007 01:51 PM

If you really love someone, than the grief can last for years I think...however, you can still meet other women while you're still feeling bad because of the loss...have to walk on sooner or later

BigBen 01-06-2007 04:27 PM

Heh, maybe that was her way of coping. :Oh crap

Big_Red 01-06-2007 04:36 PM

is the next night too soon?

woj 01-06-2007 04:43 PM

I would wait till at least the next day... partying the same day she dies would be poor taste IMO....

suesheboy 01-06-2007 04:47 PM

16 hours

HighRoller 01-06-2007 05:54 PM

High Five

sorry , I just thought of that line

wyldblyss 01-06-2007 06:03 PM

Well, if I was YOUR wife, I would knock you off and be out fucking something better before you even got cold.

Otherwise, I would wait a year

:1orglaugh That is true. You lose only what you really care for.

Sebastian Sands 01-06-2007 06:12 PM

Sebastian

spacedog 01-06-2007 06:13 PM

I wish I stayed single.. :(

TheSenator 01-06-2007 06:16 PM

I would be single for the rest of my life. I will never commit to a relationship ever again. .......... How long????
That depends... some women just wanna fuck you to make you feel better.... but nothing else.

minusonebit 01-06-2007 06:24 PM

As soon as you get off the phone with the first person to deliver the news. Good time to turn gay, too.

But don't call the police every day asking them to hurry up with the death certificates, this tends to get them a-looking.

starpimps 01-06-2007 06:28 PM

you cant party for a year
but what you can do is.
a) goto the bar, and drink by yourself
b) sit at home, and drink byyourself

webmasterchecks 01-06-2007 06:29 PM

funeral and on
