Credit Cards and Debit Cards
Hi.
I'm wondering how many sales are made by different types of cards. I use CCBILL on my sites, but they only process credit card sale and not debit cards (apart from Austrian and Germans) What do you think/know about sales made on debit cards. Obviousley I dont want to be missing out on sales because more people have debit cards. Which processor would you recommend to process debit card sales?? Leroy |
the one with the lowest % ;)

Hello Leroy,
There are millions of surfers who either don't have credit cards, or will not use them on the internet. Offering multiple payment options is a MUST to help diversify the risk of your processing revenues. You can tap into an entirely new revenue stream just by offering ACH (online checks) as a payment option. It's safe to assume that you could add 25%-35% in additional revenues on your existing traffic! I'd like to invite you to try WTS's (ACHdebit.com) ACH processing service. Drop me a line and we can discuss how offering checks can increase your profits in more detail. Or feel free to use our new merchant signup form here: http://achdebit.com/contacts.html I hope to hear from you soon.:) Kind Regards, Ben Zuckerman Account Manager Web Transaction Services Toll Free: 1(866)735-5987 ext.1168 Fax: 1(512)263-3099 ICQ: 138827832 |
the only difference between a debit and credit card
is that a debit card uses the money in the back account while a credit card uses borrowed money apart from that there is no difference , both use the visa network i think your getting confused with a bankcard , which is just atm/eftpos |

A bit OT, but, can EU (and other Non US) customers pay for things on most american pay sites that use the US version of ccbill?

Debit cards function the same way as credit cards in a non pin-pad environment -- ie, on the web. They have a Visa, MC, Discover, etc logo and they run as a credit transaction until they are settled, at which point the money is debited from your account as if you had used a pin number.
ATM cards without a Visa, MC, etc logo are not usable on the web at the moment. There is a technology for it, but there's been no real adoption of it that I'm aware of. |
It's possible to accept STAR debit cards online, the flat rate transaction fee, having money immediately in your account and no chargebacks is a nice perk too :)
