The future of Adult
Obviously, the future is watching online vids at home. When do you think this will happen and What co's are in the best position to capitalize on this?
|
:helpme :helpme
|
heh....?
|
I don't think that's the future. Live interaction is the ultimate.. Dating, escorts, cams, then maybe simulated interaction.
... Feel free to disillusion me. |
The future of porn is Paul Markham. His many mini paysites and his magic join links are amazing

Believe it or not, we're not there yet... maybe I didn't explain my previous post. I'm talking about watching online vids thru your tv, where it's mainstream.
|
You've been in the cave for how many years?
|
Hey , go to Google and look up 2007.

I agree. In the near future the computers will become the key part of home entertainment. We see this already; During parties we run MP3s from our laptops hooked up to speaker systems. TV is next to follow. We won't be loaded up DVDs - we will be downloading the movies onto our computers. |

honestly, I think internet speeds are going to have to get faster before downloading porn to your TV is a reality. I mean as of right now, I've got 4mbps and it takes about 20-30 mins to download a full bangbros movie (last time I checked a few months ago).
I know I'm not going to want to flop down in front of the TV pick a movie and then wait a half hour for it with my cock in hand. I'll just go to the computer and start surfing. Then we need to talk about storage... When a full video dl's in <5mins then it's possible for TV to step up |
I miss holding actual music in my hands ... now CD's and DVDs will be gone ... nothing tangible to really hold on to. Everything is just digitized info
|
There's no money in internet porn. Seriously.
|
I dont think that will be neccessary. The average watch time of a porn vid or download is 7 minutes.
If you know anyone in the Hotel Room movie busines, ask them. 7 mins. |

it will be about 5 years before this happens and is feasable. ISP providers offering download speeds, encoding format improvements and home/personal computer hardware is all up to par.
So what companies are gonna be in the best position? Probably not one that you can think of and my reasoning is this. Look at who were the big companies 5 years ago? They were the ones who took advantage and many of them are just shells of what they were. Look at the big companies from 8 years ago? Most of them aren't even around. The only thing I can say is that new opportunities will be exploited by the hungriest companies. Who will they will be when this takes place? who knows however I am sure Larry Flynt will still be selling porn and so will Hugh Hefner :winkwink: |
Actually here in Belgium we already have interactive digital TV.
Some examples: We have email on our TV, we have the yellow pages on our tv, we have interactive websites on our tv for finding jobs, etc.... We can also watch all movies placed on the TV providers server whenever we want. We have a menu with a large movie collection on our TV (gets updated weekly) and also has a large collection adult movies. We just choose wich movie we want to see and it starts right away. The digital TV box uphere has an internet IP and is connected to a LAN connection. If this is what you mean....... it's not the future, it's the present time here in Belgium :thumbsup |
No FUcking money in Porn, now go fuck yourself
|
about the downloads etc.. there is a big issue with copyright protection etc so before they figure out a way to protect their movies from illegal distribution i think VOD would be where its at, not the downloads..

If you get a chance, there will be a great panel discussion on the 15th, at Internext
fucking-around-and-business-discussion/686059-future-adult-industry.html Part of the panel will be the president of our company speaking :) |

There are plenty of large mainstream corporations spending serious time and money working out how we will purchase, use, move and interact with all kinds of content in the future. Computers themselves have hit the point where most consumers have at least one in their homes. Combining your Computer, TV, Radio, Telephony and other Infotainment devices together is the next step. A step that has already been taken. Microsoft Media Center PC's (though fraught with issues) are moving in this direction. These PC's will allow you to view most pic, music and video formats on your TV. Shit...I even play MP3's from my computer (mac even) on my TV and stereo through my Xbox 360. Oh...and the Hotel people I talked to at the DH show said 4 minutes was average. ;) |

"Microsoft also showed off the integration between Xbox Live, its online gaming service and community, and Vista. Now, Windows Vista PC users can connect to Xbox Live and have much the same user experience that Xbox Live users on the game console have. During Bach's portion of the keynote, he announced that service providers such as AT&T that offer Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) using Microsoft's software will begin offering this year the Xbox 360 console in lieu of a set-top box. Service providers still will give users the option of the typical set-top box for IPTV or an Xbox 360. Still, the announcement sets up a scenario where home users can watch television and surf the Internet through their Xbox 360 console, which also is an IP-connected device. The move shows Microsoft upping the ante to provide not just software, but also hardware for the digital home, which could eventually put it in competition with its own hardware partners." taken from: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,12...s/article.html |
So what is really the future of adult?

Affiliates will get smaller and smaller pieces of the pie.

those who adapt will survive and prosper like everything else

The future of adult is that there is no future for adult unless we pull our dicks out of our asses and defeat these stupid proposals like .xxx and the war on adult bookstores.
|
The future is cellphones. Dumb MoFo's out number geeks and everybody has a cellphone. 18 yr old will go to bed and pull out cellphone and jack off to streaming vid. Will be huge with a $50 plugin screen to expand the picture to 10 inches diameter.
|
uhh porn has been on tv for a long time. ppv, on demand, premium channels, etc. profits from porn sold in hotel rooms squash net sales. big mainstream companies already profit more off of porn than anyone else.
and the future isn't in mobile. no one wants to jerk off to a video on a cell phone. if you're in a position to be jerking off, you're probably at home. in which case you can fire up the computer or turn on the tv. mobile porn is a joke. sure there is money there. kind of like a novelty thing. "hey look at this porn on my phone." but to think it's gonna blowup and be the future is a joke. stick to fucking ring tones. |
I saw a show talking about a new sort of DVD that is even better than HD. Should be out soon. Also it seems that the satalite comapnies are going to be adding 150 new HD channels.
So we are moving in that direction. |

The family TV set is usually in a place to public for most porn watchers...
porn is a personal thing and the PC still rules for a while yet |

The number of 18-21 yr olds that don't have a computer but have a cellphone is astronomical(figuratively speaking). This number is only going to rise in the future. People leave the laptop at home on a trip but they will take the cellphone and why pay for spoon fed hotel shit when you can get exactly what you want on the phone. Plus the secrecy...people think you are typing a text message when you are actually watching a gangbang or interactive webcam. Only an spoiled idiot needs to jack off to a wide screen...plus see me above note about a 10 inch plugin screen that will weigh about 1 pound. |
