Bush just made a law so the Gov't can't open your mail

And then went on to add one of those Presidential note/addendum thingies saying he could open it if he wanted to.

Oh, and in case anyone's wondering, we're talking about the reading of mail without a WARRANT.

BigCashCrew 01-04-2007 09:44 PM

CAN.

Old news, too.

Spunky 01-04-2007 09:48 PM

Customs always had a right to open/confiscate anything they wanted anyways

pornguy 01-04-2007 09:48 PM

Yes, this is true. I've had mail opened and confiscated in the past. This is nothing new.

No, they didn't. They never had a right to touch domestic first class letter mail. Packages are a whole different story, but first class mail was supposed to be secret unless otherwise ordered by the courts.

Do tell. Or are you one of those pathetic idiots who just talk shit to raise their low self-esteems?

I was very accurate. He signed a NEW law saying that the Gov't CAN'T open your mail (note to all the nay sayers saying that customs opened mail, NEW & CAN'T).

But, he added a note to the law that he can open it if he wants.

So basically, he signed the law and said he didn't have to follow it, for all those confused.

Ya, old news... lol jesus this place cracks me up.

Spunky 01-04-2007 10:02 PM

Didn't realize the American laws were that strict. Not only do Canadian customs open/take what they want, they send you an addition charge for them to do so.Some charges double of what the products were worth

aico 01-04-2007 10:03 PM

Why do people keep mentioning Customs?? If I mail a letter to Texas, from Washington, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH CUSTOMS.

And for those still confused, he's not talking about the 80's rock band.
