wow

i really dont understand the american system. Make the health system open for privates allaround, and therefor making the whole system more expensive..

so happy i live in a country where all hospital bills are payed over taxes

You shoudl shop around with your agent or another agent. I'm a single male non-smoker and the heath insurance that I had through a Empire Fire & Marine was a PPO plan and the price went up and up twice a year from $178/month three years ago to $325 recently. So I got a telemarketing call last month and met with a local agent who put me into a well known HMO plan for $148/month that has better dental.

I really don't understand all this mumbo jumbo shit!

Why is do you need to pay almost $7K a year for heath insurance? What happens if you don't need anything done do you get some back? Does it get cheaper the year after?

The only thing I pay for here is Dental treatment and my Prescriptions from the doctor. I can't tell you the last time I visited a doctor. I've never had anything wrong with me in my life except for a cold or flu which I just pop to the shops and buy pain killers for a couple of dollars.

I'd be super pissed at paying all that money for Health Insurance and knowing nothing goes wrong with me.

I pay $250 every 3 months for blue cross blue shield. But then again I'm not always talking about pills like you juicy :)

Its all fun and games until you have some real medical issue, then $7k is less than nothing.

People seem to forget that it also depends on where you live in the US, NY is way more expensive for health insurance than say phx

betsy 01-04-2007 01:52 PM

NY sucks for insurance, its about 800$ a month to cover my husband and I, vs about 300$ a month when we were covering ourselves in cali. :(
