Stocks and Bonds trading - where to start?

My dad was a broker for a couple years, and only recently have I become interested in learning about it.

Where are some good online resources to help understand how the basics of trading works, and where to start for n00bz0rz.

Thank you.

Hi Brad,

I used to be a broker, so maybe I can help.

Fool.com is a very good, n00b friendly website. Assuming you want to trade with an online brokerage, check out their website, they will probably have good resources. I trade with Charles Schwab (schwab.com)

If you want to look up a specific topic, go to investorlinks.com, a directory of financial sites. There's a text box in the upper left to enter a search term, so if you want info on "candlesticks" or "canslim" you can find sites on topic. Please note they don't seem to clear out old and dead links. I also like investopedia.com.

And if you really want to learn how to use an online broker, I can recommend an ebook at www.booklocker.com/books/2586.html or in paperback at stockcharts.stores.yahoo.net/ulgutooninri.html.
