I have been using x-cart and have been very happy.

Do not use OsCommerce, it is poorly written, hard to customize and has security problems.

You have two options, either go open source or commercial. For open source shopping carts ZenCart is the best one out there, it is based on OsCommerce but has bascially taken everything good from it and fixed most of what was bad including the code and the security leaks. For commercial carts the best one out there is X-cart, it is similar to ZenCart in function however it is superior when it comes to customizing the look of your store.
