Juicy save your money..I got one 3 days before christmas..seemed cool at 1st but turned out not to be all its advertised to be...I took mine back on saturday.
just a few of the things I didnt like: The keyboard buttons are small and difficult to use. The round navigation button is too low and anyone with man size fingers will frequently roll over to the buttons on the side and that will return you to the main screen..pain in the butt. There are issues with the software for both email and the IM services..some work, some don't..depending on what systems/providers you use..and cingular tech support is unable to provide any help with these issues as they are using vendor software for these applications. Turns out to get the IM feature to work you have to use a 3rd party app and pay for that too. about $30+ a year Sound quality was fair but if you use the phone without a headset its very uncomfy on the ear. Also be aware that cingular classifies the blackjack as a PDA..so they require you to use a $44 PDA data plan when you buy..thats all they offer...yes you can go the pay as you go route for data but that will cost you if you are a heavy user. That $44 is on top of your normal phone plan AND it does not include text messaging..if you want that, you have to add a text messaging plan too. You wont find much in the way of 3rd party apps for it since its so new. I will say the full HTML browser was kinda nice to have and most sites display fairly normally in it. Before you buy I would log into cingulars support forums (the samsung sub forum) and read up on the issues people are having with it before you buy..you might also go to really huge cell phone forum called howardforums..that place has better info on cell phones than any place I know of. To be honest its not the worst phone I ever had, but I was disappointed in it overall, and I didn't think it was worth the money or the addtl cost of the PDA data + text message plan on top of the price of the phone. you can always try it out yourself..you get the 30 days to return it if you buy thru them..you'll know pretty quick if its for you or not. |
I got the new Black Motorola Q and love it, but its only for Verizon
