Just set-up the PS3 for the first time ...
In my dining room i have two 42" plasma TV's and a Play Station 3 just sitting there for the past week. The rooms I'm putting the TV's in are still being painted so they'll sit for another week but I had to set up the PS3 just to try it out. The only game i have is The Tony Hawk Project right now but I plan on getting more soon. Any way I set it up in my bedroom on the 32" LCD and it's a pretty sick system. I was able to put my SD card from my PSP in and even the movies i have ripped on it looked pretty good. The entire system is pretty well made. Much nicer then the PS2 as far as quality.
I can't wait to try out the blue ray player but for now i just disconnected it and put it in the box. I'll hook it back up when i set up the plasma in the new office. I'm not a real big gamer but I have a PS2 and a PSP so this should be fun to have when i want a break ..:thumbsup |
nice setup, i wanted a ps3, but now i want a wii more

I just got back from Best Buy, went to pick up Resistance...they had a pile of 50+ PS3s just sitting there. I was surprised that they hoarded them like the did to sell this week. They wouldn't have sat on that floor for two minutes a week a go.

That really sounds hot noch stuff!

Thats sick, nice!

I've heard unsubstantiated rumors that playing games on a Plasma will fuck them up (burn in from score boards, etc), and LCD is the choice for gaming. Might want to check into it.

I have a 60inch latest LG Plazma and started to see the burn in while playing xbox360, luckily stopped before it was permanent, but the image was burnt into the screen for a good 10 hours (faintly). The LCD's are the way to go no burn in to worry about and great picture. Matt |

I see what you mean .. like life stats and scores .. maps .. but I don't play for more then an hour at a clip ... i just play to take a break ..

My husband is enjoying the PS3 that we have. The NHL Hockey is amazing

Tony Hawk Project 8 I assume? Love that game!

The plasma burn should really only be a factor in the first 100 hours or month of the TVs life. After that, you shouldn't have any problems. When you get a new plasma, just keep it on for a day or two on a movie channel that doesn't have an imprinted logo on it and it should be fine.

Sounds like a sweet setup

ok, the fix that the 2nd and 3rd gen plasma's put in place to stop "burn in" is simple - they burn in the rest of the screen to match. Meaning you end up with a duller, grayish picture.
So if you have the money for nice toys, buy an LCD for gaming. Save the plasma for your home theater... |
nice setup you have :thumbsup
