Domain Name:
The county I live in has a website with the domain name being the name of the county.
I am considering registering a domain name using the name of the county with "site" added to the county name. In other words: countyname.com is the county website domain name. countynamesite.com is the domain name I am considering. Should I expect the county to give me any trouble about the domain name? |
Maybe 3 Sq.'s at county's expense.:winkwink:

You should have no trouble. There have been a few (very few) cases where a city or country has gone after someone, but as far as I know, it's always been the exact name of the entity, and they usually lose.
There have been a couple of cases where they won in arbitration, but you can always appeal it to a court which would likely throw it out. The bottom line is that you should have nothing to worry about. |
Any more input about this?
