Can you have one drink and then stop?

The only time I'm able to do it is if the booze runs out really.

What about the rest of you?

bareskin 01-01-2007 10:12 AM

no way impossible

xato 01-01-2007 10:17 AM

of course i can

RawAlex 01-01-2007 10:18 AM

I have none to start with, than I don't have to worry about stopping.

Recovering alcoholic?

Jakke PNG 01-01-2007 10:23 AM

Sure I can. I have no issues stopping at one drink, glass of wine or a single beer after a Sauna.
Why wouldn't I be able to? I'm not weak.

Peaches 01-01-2007 10:25 AM

That's pretty much the ONLY way I drink any more these days. Sometimes 2, 3 if I'm planning to stay wherever I am, but getting sloshed went out of style back in college, IMO.

Minte 01-01-2007 10:27 AM

I only ever have one drink.
Last night it was a Bombay Martini, straight up w/2 olives.

mikeyddddd 01-01-2007 10:36 AM

Sure. No problem for me.

No, I was a unlucky (butin a sense lucky) victim of someone else's attempt to make me happier.

There are many of the friends of Bill around here though... and I am proud of every one of them.

KingK7 01-01-2007 12:38 PM

Quitting is for losers

vvq 01-01-2007 01:05 PM

why would you want to have one and then stop?

Adultnet 01-01-2007 01:08 PM

yes this is easy..:)

starpimps 01-01-2007 01:16 PM

hells no
thats like saying, can you put your dick in a tight pussy and have one pump?

impossible!

wyldworx 01-01-2007 01:24 PM

I only drink socially. Alcohol does not turn me into a very nice person. I try to be as sparing as possible.

Yngwie 01-01-2007 01:38 PM

I barely ever drink so doing that would not be a problem.

Spunky 01-01-2007 01:40 PM

Once you pop,you can't stop :glugglug

woj 01-01-2007 02:09 PM

after 1 drink is not hard at all, after a few drinks though, it takes some effort...

TimBlaze 01-01-2007 02:10 PM

Cyndalie 01-01-2007 02:10 PM

Beat me to it. That's exactly what I was going to ask. :)

thagreek 01-01-2007 02:57 PM

I can drink one then stop, atleast I think I can.

After Shock Media 01-01-2007 03:48 PM

I see no difficulty in having one drink to be social then stopping with alcohol consumption for the rest of the night. Hell it is also very easy to pace yourself at a long party that lasts all day and only have a drink every couple hours.

I am way past getting shit faced for the hell of it every time alcohol is available. Sometimes you just do not want to. Sometimes you may need to drive latter. Sometimes you do not want to feel bad the next day. Sometimes you would rather have a straight head during the entire event.

Then for some of us the thought of drinking to get drunk has past us up many, many years ago. It is sort of like the candy issues one had as a kid. During childhood one could daydream about candy, plan on buying and eating the candy, make deals and entire events around candy. Then shortly after you are able to buy candy whenever you want, you just eat it in real moderation if at all.

Mr Pheer 01-01-2007 03:49 PM

seeing how I hardly ever drink because i dont like the flavor of beer or most alcohol, its extremely easy for me to just have one drink. Most of the time I dont even finish it.

AnnaSucks 01-01-2007 03:53 PM

I'm hammered after one cider. Or if it's strong, I'll just pass out.

I'm a cheap date.

Well, most of us I'd say can walk to where we keep the booze in the house and get as much as we could possibly consume :)

Of course, this is from a woman who's had the same gallon bottle of Bacardi for the last 23+ years. I bet that stuff doesn't age well either.

madawgz 01-01-2007 04:09 PM

ah just drink till your drunk :winkwink:

shekinah 01-01-2007 04:41 PM

I'm drunk last night and my head hurts and so as my chest.. Never got any good sleep.. About the question, that's possible.. I did one drink and stop. very easy..

bizman2960 01-01-2007 05:56 PM

Probably, but WHY?!

Violetta 01-01-2007 06:01 PM

I can have one BEER and then stop--- Not much of a drink drinker!

Barefootsies 01-01-2007 06:01 PM

No. Which is why I do not drink anymore.

Jarmusch 01-02-2007 02:04 PM

Some of you here automatically assume that having more than one drink equals getting drunk or shitfaced, and that such behaviour should have died in college. You can have 2-3 drinks and not get drunk, nothing wrong with that.

Now if you can only stop on the 10th drink, that's another story. :pimp

carol.prime 01-02-2007 02:09 PM

hmmm...it depends actually,
when I'm in not in the mood to drink,
I can do one drink then stop...
really depends on my mood, but I can really be drunk too...

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Mike Semen 01-02-2007 02:27 PM

Why wouldn't I be able to? I'm not weak.

Wonder what your vice is then. (sorry but you sound so full of yourself)

wyldblyss 01-02-2007 03:00 PM

Yep, I do it all the time.

GT-Omar 01-02-2007 03:03 PM

Yes I can.

Not to boast or to make any others feel weak willed, but I have always hung around the hard partying crowd. The type of crowd that never knows when enough is enough. Through maturing, and self realization we have been able to look inwards, and see it's no longer about who can outlast who, or who can get wasted enough to either do, or say something dumb or cool enough to remember the next day. But more be able to sit around and have productive conversations about, life, family, business. With out having to wake up the next morning not know where you are, where your car is, why your broke, why you can't piss right( that was a joke......lol) but really it just comes down to "I'm just to old for that shit"
