That would be a globe, not a map.

Your logic would mean that there is a such thing as a one-wheeled or three-wheeled bicycle.

Dagwolf 12-31-2006 02:01 PM

If I put the image of a map on a tea cup, would that mean the earth is shaped like a tea cup?

woj 12-31-2006 02:04 PM

No the reason maps are made flat is common sense who wants to build a circular map each time? Just because you never seen something does not mean it does not exist. By your logic there is no north pole south pole iraq afganistan blah blah blah

Flow 12-31-2006 02:41 PM

Honestly, I thought this year was a bit dull so to speak, but that site had made my year worth it - too fucking funny!

Flow 12-31-2006 02:42 PM

I have to join that site - just to stir the shit up

Flow 12-31-2006 02:48 PM

I believe, I believe - they have picture that proves it - I can't believe it! :1orglaugh

Q: "What's underneath the Earth?" aka "What's on the bottom?" aka "What's on the other side?"

A: This is unknown. Some believe it to be just rocks, others believe the Earth rests on the back of four elephants and a turtle.

Quote:

Q: "What about the stars, sun and moon and other planets? Are they flat too? What are they made of?"

A: The sun and moon, each 32 miles in diameter, circle Earth at a height of 3000 miles at its equator, located midway between the North Pole and the ice wall. Each functions similar to a "spotlight," with the sun radiating "hot light," the moon "cold light." As they are spotlights, they only give light out over a certain are which explains why some parts of the Earth are dark when others are light. Their apparent rising and setting are caused by optical illusions.
shit is funny as hell.

Did they have an explanation about how you can take off in a plane, fly in a straight line, and end up where ya started?

A: The Force.

Scootermuze 12-31-2006 04:31 PM

The force?
Well that certainly has me convinced.. :)

Scottish Guy 12-31-2006 04:43 PM

These people twist facts to suit their needs and ignore other facts claiming of government conspiracy. These are dangerous people if they can convince people of these beliefs they must have a lot of control over these people and I bet I read on the news soon about a massive flat earth suicide convention

Just because you refuse to accept the facts, they are damgerous?

tony286 12-31-2006 05:03 PM

its too funny but hey it gives them a hobby

Sly 12-31-2006 05:10 PM

I've been reading it over. Typically, when somebody firmly believes in a conspiracy they have lots of answers. I have several friends that are really into 9/11 conspiracies, and though I think they're nuts, they have detailed answers for most questions. The guys at this Earth site have HORRIBLE answers, they don't even put forth much effort into proving their belief, which makes me think its just a couple of bored guys with nothing better to do than stir up emotions.
