Tito wuz robbed.

That fight should not have stopped, he was covering his face with his hands and not in danger.

I smell a fix.

AdPatron 12-30-2006 11:20 PM

I take it Tito lost.

Anthony 12-30-2006 11:21 PM

Tito was in the fetal position.

The fetal position in MMA is not considered "INTELLIGENT DEFENDING".

That's why it was stopped.

Something smells funny indeed. Tito wasn't robbed though... he went along for the ride... or maybe he took the ride himself. :thumbsup

PR_Sebas 12-30-2006 11:21 PM

didnt see the fight... i'll catch it on the replay.

High Plains Drifter 12-30-2006 11:24 PM

Tito was essentially tapping out by rolling into the fetal position and staying there.

Martin3 12-30-2006 11:25 PM

Tito wasn't robbed

Getting robbed is being an AFF affiliate. :321GFY

I wanted to see Tito win but your 100% right. he was making any effort to get out of that spot. Chuck could have hit him 15 more times ..

lazycash 12-30-2006 11:26 PM

It did appear the ref let a lot more punishment go in the first round than what occured before he stopped it in the third. However, Chuck was raining down hard and even though it didn't look like any hit real clean, it was only a matter of time. Also, Tito sounded very humbled and gracious after the fight and didn't mention anything in regards to feeling like it shouldn't have been stopped.

Lance69 12-30-2006 11:27 PM

I agree it was stopped a bit early in that exchange, but the first flurry he took in the first round he was lucky it was let go so long. Tito needed to be way more busy. Plus it set's up another match down the road.

Did mention CROCOP is coming?

starpimps 12-30-2006 11:27 PM

tito got schooled...look at the position he was in, thats not intelligent at all. Even a noob mma fighter knows that
i won my bet tho heh

Lensman 12-30-2006 11:27 PM

So he was down for the count, he couldn't have survived?

baddog 12-30-2006 11:29 PM

Tito waited a split second too long to decide to do anything. You could tell that just as the ref made his move, Tito made his. He just waited too long, and he knows it.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 12-30-2006 11:32 PM

I am so happy that Chuck kicked his ass it's not funny, it was blatantly obvious that he was going to shitpound Tito at some point very soon. The only robbery I feel was that Chuck didn't get the oppurtunity to really fucking lay into him.

The fight was ended on a down note of sorts, but there was really no defense on Tito's part right there, the fight was over. The only people who were robbed here were the iceman's fans, the ones who genuinely wanted to see Tito get a royal asskicking...

But who cares about that, did you see Griffen get his ass hauled? WOW! I really didn't see that coming, and to to that extent, it really came out of nowhere. That was a serious disappointment...

The high point for me was macdonald's win, that guy showed some detrmination. Everyone, including myself was sur ehe was going to get his ass beat, and he pulled through again. He really has no striking game that I can see, but he has the drive. Let this guy get his striking figured out, and he might just be a force some day, I'll be watching for him in the future...

I don't think so, it looked to me like he reacted instinctively to the pressure of Liddell being relieved. Lots of fighters make a flailing move on the ref after getting pounded to a stoppage.

Any time a fighter as experienced as Ortiz rolls into the fetal position and stays there, I consider it a tap out.

Nope Joe, not at all. When you have someone who has top position raining down blows, and your are curled up covering up, not moving, you are taking punishment.

The first round, Tito was moving, using his legs, as well as covering up. It's why Mario let Chuck go to town on Tito, he was intelligently defending a ground and pound.

The 3rd round was Tito going fetal.

also the ref doesn't stop it til the second time chuck punches him in that giant gash....was pretty much saving tito from total facial removal.....he wasn't knocked out but he was about to get hurt really bad....it was a good stop but shitty for fight fans cause it wasn't a ko :2 cents:

ps....if tito woulda said anything about a bad decision after the fight i would say he had a point tho..

RawAlex 12-31-2006 12:10 AM

THis allows for another built up re-match. Haven't you people learned anything from years of the WWE?

this is the 2nd time he has lost.. i just dont think he is as powerful as Chuck.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 12-31-2006 12:34 AM

forrest seemed a little pissed there! i mean, it IS understandable, but i think he might hav ebeen just a little overconfident going into that one...

he got the fucking shit rocked out of him....

Mr Pheer 12-31-2006 12:38 AM

I bet Jenna dumps his loser ass now

mattz 12-31-2006 12:40 AM

damn, I'm pissed I missed that

gecko 12-31-2006 12:54 AM

I think the stoppage was the right decision, but the UFC are known for quick stoppages

Doctor Dre 12-31-2006 01:59 AM

Ugh ? He was unable to defend himself. Watch the replay closely, none of the punches hit his arm. They were all in his face.

Tito lost... and it was meant to be. UFC fans were dumb to vote 49-51...

There was 2-3 times where the ref could have stopped the fight but didn't. It was no early stopage if you ask me... tito got his ass kicked... except for one take down wich didn't stand, he didn't score any major points.

There is a reason why there is no deathcount in official MMA fights... boxing has lots of deaths.

That reason is : They stop the fight before the real knockout happens, and if it happens, they don't let the guy back in the fight.

Tito was unable to defend himself, he lost :(

Are you kiddin? I bet she's deepthroating him right this minute.

evildick 12-31-2006 08:25 AM

The best part of the whole night was when Griffin bawled like a baby after losing.

Vegas Ken 12-31-2006 08:33 AM

Tito did not complain about the stop.
He really seemed timid at times with Chuck.

Deej 12-31-2006 09:24 AM

Forrest was distraught because he lost in his home town.

Dude got pummeled, too.

BuggyG 12-31-2006 10:30 AM

FUCK!
And I had someone record the fight for me
It won't be the same now
I know who won

DirtyDanza 12-31-2006 10:55 AM

well I was there and I got one thing to say.... I know when someone throws a fight...

D-Money 12-31-2006 02:55 PM

Tito came out with a false confidence, then it was proven false as soon as Chuck kept throwing more punches in his exchanges with Tito. Chuck knew exactly how it was going to happen, he has Tito's number. But Tito is 31 and he will learn from that. Tito was going for take downs from way too far away.

If I were Tito, and trust me, I'm not. I would have gotten closer and punched with a quick jab to Chucks face, then drop down for a lower leg single. If that works, keep Chuck away from the fence so he can't get up so easily. Then Tito would have a chance.

Chuck is becoming the modern day Tyson.

Ken 12-31-2006 03:05 PM

Might have been stopped a tad early, but he was in fetal position so hard to argue with. If Tito didn't bitch about it, then it was probably a good call. Afterall, he was there ;)

Besides, if the fix was in, they would have had Tito win. A LOT more money in it for everyone if there is a rubber match....

GTS Mark 12-31-2006 03:52 PM

Lens you're on crack if you think he was robbed. Chuck was on top of him reigning down blows and tito was down and obviously having a hard time defending.

Chuck did exactly what everyone thought he would do, he came in and pounded the shit out of Tito. Tito was way out of his class on this one..

My 2 cents anyways

DH

Cant wait to see Fedor fight. Hes a beast. Oh yeah Shogun should be fun as well.

QuaWee 12-31-2006 07:10 PM

Looked like Tito was covering up well. Chuck was hitting mostly his arms. Even Randy Coutore said so

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 12-31-2006 07:21 PM

liddell is just too good a sprawler for tito to get a hold of, you saw it happen again and again in that fight. the fact that tito didn't bothe rmaking any excuses kind of impressed me, i fully expected a long list of excuses out of him after the loss.

Lance69 01-01-2007 02:18 AM

Tito needed to use the clinch. He didn't make a good enough effort to do that. His shots didn't even move forward and were half hearted.
