Lost Dell laptop power cable, any quick answer to this problem?

I left my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop cable in USA 2 days ago when I departed to Asia.........this laptop is my #1 computer for work, anyone know of any quick fixes to a problem like this?

So far I've found that no computer power cable stores offer anything for my Dell, I will be in Bangkok in a few days and I'm hoping to find something there but this sucks I want something NOW

anyone? help PLEASE

(btw, until then I am having my power cable mailed asap)

Buy a generic one office depot it comes with like 10 different "heads" for different plugs, worked for my HP

My children tore up one of mine moving the lapotop back and forth from the couch to the coffee table. I actually found a universal adapter from radio shack I believe. It may be worth a shot if you are in a hurry.

Ebay has them pretty cheap. They do make a multi plug one for like 99.00 that they have at radioshack that will work with it, but not sure where you will find it there. I have the same laptop. I wont lug mine to asia again though. Too heavy when you add luggage, and kids and shit. :Oh crap

I highly doubt Philippines has an Office Depot, but I'll definately need a backup like the 1 you mentioned so this NEVER happens again

this fuckings sucks, I wish the laptops had a place for Double A batteries or something for emergencies like this

I agree our dell is too damn big, I plan to get a much smaller one eventually

BUT, I did find a place in the airport on the way here that had an entire kit of different power cable sizes to go into laptops, he had like 15 diff sizes but NONE of them fit mine, our Dell is kinda old I guess time for an emergency upgrade hehe

Ill probably leave it at home for Internext even. I have my sidekick 3 and it does email icq and browsing, so usually good to go as long as there is a decent cell signal. :winkwink:

Well, those adapters are manufactured over there, so you should be able to find one. Do NOT use the universal adapters, they are not good for the motherboard... I don't care what anyone tells you, do not use them!

I repair laptops daily and we see alot of units damaged by the universal ac adapters.

I would find a electronics store and see what they have for you.

Do you know what family/model your unit uses? It will be on the bottom of the ac adapter and the chassis base.

Thanks for that tip man (about the universal ac adapters) I was out searching for stuff today here in Philippines and thats the closest that I found to being able to use, and I wont know the "family/model" used either since I just spoke with my Dad who will be sending it off asap 2morrow

I'll just have to wait for it probably, BUT when in Bangkok I will probably look some more since they have a TON of IT/electronics megacenters (like Pantip Plaza)
