Try the new Meebo service. It's just like Trillian, but it's browser-based (flash) and free. You can login to all the different types of IM services from it -- MSN, Google Talk, AIM, ICQ, et cetera.
Miranda and meebo sucks, trilian is best. After using all kinds of multiple messengers i conclude trilian is best.I didnt ever have any major problems with him.
It's a limit on the contacts you can add. Sometimes, it's because the person you add didn't approve you after you closed or is 'invisible' when you add them.
Get an additional ICQ number and add it in another profile group, Batts, it should solve your problem until the next version is out. *Hopefully*
- actual USEFUL Search feature! Unlike ICQ's & Yahoo's
- centralised logs // you can get ex: 3 computers linked to the same files
- resource usage // 1 trillian with 3 connections is the avg of 1 ICQ5 running.
trillian crashes every once in a while but then so does msn & icq, i must admit i've never experienced a Yahoo crash but then .. i didn't stay in Asia long enough lol.
over the years, i've noticed log files size affects trailian's stability the most.
Either prune those big ones or break 'em down.
User limiting is a common programming practice and don't blame trilian for that, just try and add those in the regular IM application, sometimes the limit is even lower.
The true downside in using trilian is the fact that since ex:msn uses a proprietary protocol to manage their data, therefore just like M$ did with protocol v8, trilian can stop working for an extended period of time until the compatibility returns in the likely form of an upgrade.
